John Wick: Chapter 4
Consequences:-D
Good movie, enjoyable watch and all out action as is the thing with the franchise. Just had something new or something rare missing in the action sequences for me but still, a good movie.
And Donnie Yen's character was just so freaking cool and enjoyable in my view.
What say you Tris?
{Ed001's Note - I loved it not sure it needed anything new, just needed to be done well and it was.
As for Donnie Yen, personally I am sick of seeing him play a Zatoichi rip-off, he has done it so many times and it is played out for me. But that might be a consequence (see what I did there?) of my addiction to martial arts movies, so I have seen hundreds of people play that character. I would have just loved him to be Donnie Yen along the lines of Ip Man Yen to be honest. The character I actually didn't mind, I just wanted him to be full on in the fight scenes as I love Donnie Yen.
I though Dacascos was the best villain in the series personally. His character as a Wick fanboy was funny.
Overall though, I loved the film and, to be fair, every film in the series. It is probably, imo, the best movie series of all time. Which is some going when you consider Keanu is a terrible actor!}
1.) 17 Apr 2023 14:06:40 I am thoroughly looking forward to this one I love Donnie Yen, and like you Tris, think Ip Man is amongst his best work Dacascos was class in the last one, I like him as well I've heard Scott Adkins is in this one? But in a fat suit? Is that true and does it work? He is amazing in some of the fight films he has been in, brilliant in Ip Man 4 and is just class as Boyka Like I said, cannot wait to see this one - so far they have been great and I do love martial arts films - just need to get Michael Jai White amped up as a villain too!
{Ed001's Note - the Adkins role is an odd one. It didn't really make the most of his martial arts skills but it was an interesting character. I would have liked to have seen him as the main bad guy, back to his Boyka best, rather than that side role he got. Apparently it was Yen who desperately wanted him in, so he was kind of shoehorned into a role just to get him in.
I just hope Continental lives up to the first 4, not sure when it is due out, but I will defo go to watch that too.}
