Why are most modern movies all good concepts that are poorly executed?

I've just got done watching The Circle and it feels like I've only watched half a movie. I mean it's an ok movie but it feels like the budget randomly got slashed and half the scenes were removed to save money, which they spent the majority of it on Tom Hanks, Emma Watson and the clone guy from the new Star Wars movies.

Certain characters make quite a big introduction for themselves and then are never seen again, one character starts going on like there is some kind of evil plan and then nothing is ever said about it again.

I don't even know what I just watched, it was literally a compilation of specific actors saying phrases to each other.

Would not recommend.

A sad day, Sid Haig passed away at 80 years old.
I love him in House of 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects. Thought he really played the role of Captain Spaulding excellently.

Watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters last night.

All I'm going to say is, Godzilla got very angry.

I never saw the fascination with Godzilla and other monster films.

The first from Edwards, quite some unhappy on the fact that Godzilla was more like a supporting character than the main. Lack of monster actions. You can't complain on that on this one. Plenty of them in it.

I read quite a few complain about its story. Maybe I kind of agree with them. But I came for the actions and monsters, and I get exactly that. So I would say I'm satisfied with it. I like it for what it is, for what I was looking for.

Watched it on Sunday, quite enjoyed it, typical Godzilla movie, I'd say it's worth a watch for sure.

For those of you who felt Vader vs Kenobi was a bit meh in the original films. Then you need to check this out.

Have you seen Vader: Shards of the past?

3.) 31 Jul 2019 14:37:26
No I haven't. I'm not really into Star Wars but my friend showed me the Vadar vs Kenobi reimagined and it was pretty awesome.

Watched Venom last night, pretty good and quite funny. I'm not big on super hero/villain movies but Venom was fun.

*Spoiler*

Question though, is Venom good or bad? Because I thought he was bad, but he's kind of good in the movie - with Tom Hardy explaining that he can't eat certain people as they're innocent.

He started off as villain in the comics, but has switched between villain and anti hero at times, I think the reference point for that is the lethal protector run of venom, he teams up with punisher a few times I think as well in the run

There are only 2 that really spring to mind for me that are consistently putting out good performances. Tom Hardy and Leonardo Di Caprio. These two consistently put in good performances even when they are in a terrible movie.

However a special mention should go to Joe Pesci, who came out of retirement and put in the performance of a lifetime in The Irishman.

I was going to write a post about why I didn't like this movie, but it would come across as me taking the movie seriously(which I'm not), so I'll just post this video here, as it explains everything in a comedic way.

I've not been a fan of the new trilogy, but I heard something pretty funny. I heard that during the test screening, it scored very low so they reedited some of it and rescreened it. It scored low again, so they brought in George Lucas to save it xD
