Ok. Old films that should get a remake, The Hidden and the Rowdy Roddy Piper classic They Live. Both excellent and both due a re-vamp.

FTE {Ed001's Note - I loved that film! They Live I mean. I fully agree they should redo it.}

Why redo films i don't get it, they are classics for a reason, leave them alone. {ed001's note - because they may be classics, but some films are cult classics, they are loved for what they tried to do, rather than what they actually achieved. they live, for instance, had terrible acting and effects, redone with decent acting and effects, it would be so much better.}

The only thing they couldn't do Ed is make THAT fight scene any better. Still one of my all time favourites.

FTE {Ed001's Note - not sure about that, get Tony Jaa in!}

3.) 01 Mar 2013
And possibly Jackie Chan when he was in his prime. Circa Armour of God or Meals on Wheels.

FTE {Ed001's Note - Wheels on Meals is a classic movie, him, Yuen Baio and Sammo Hung are brilliant together.}

A decent Guyver film should be made

IT and gremlins lol

Wheels on meals! Well spotted Ed, did you ever see a film called Police Assassin's with Cynthia Rothrock and possibly Michele Yeoh, excellent fight scenes.
If your going to remake Stephen King films then I'd like to see Salems Lot get the treatment without Rob Lowe obviously. {Ed001's Note - it rings a bell, did it have Rothrock fighting with a chain?}

9.) 02 Mar 2013
Can't say for sure Ed. The only thing I remember was thinking that this was quite good for Rothrock as opposed to the usual garbage she was in.

FTE {Ed001's Note - she couldn't act well enough to get decent parts, unfortunately. It is a shame, she had looks and talent in martial arts, but her acting was abysmal. Though a lot of that is down to working in Chinese cinema, they like a different style of acting, with over expressive facial work, which doesn't go down well in the west.}

Hollywood tends to remake films it knows it can make money off, rather than films that need it. Its easier to take a well known film that's a classic or cult classic and remake it as they know fans of the original will go to see it purely out of curiousity. Something like Total Recall for example. Original is a classic possibly Arnold's best film, didn't need a remake yet the suits knew it would pull fans in to see it. And its sheep. But its easier to do than to take a film that's a classic but didn't do well at the time and is perceived as a flop as it has a certain stigma about it so Hollywood won't touch it no matter how deserving as they worry it won't do well commercially. You'll notice that they tend to remake only films from a certain period usually 70's to 80's although sometimes they do the odd older film from 50's to 60's. Yet they wouldn't touch something like Gone With The Wind for example which probably could do with a modern version.

What happened to the new ghostbusters film that was supposedly going to be made? {ed001's note - last i heard shooting was to begin this year and that they finally got bill murray to agree to be in it too.}

This is what I mean. I like the ghostbusters films but this new film is a bit pointless. Its just to make money as they know fans will go see it. Its been thirty years their all a bit long in the tooth now.

I think they are attempting a semi reboot with a handing over of the business to a new generation. Ghostbusters tng lol!
