Anyone looking forward to batman v superman??

{Ed001's Note - me, a little anyway. Not desperately awaiting it like, just interested to see what it will be like.}

I'm sort of the same, I didn't like Superman, a bit too much for me, but I love the dark knight trilogy. The trailers look awesome but I'm starting to think because I'm looking forward to it so much, it's going to be more like the superman style and let me down! Not too happy about wonder woman and aquaman being involved either.

{Ed001's Note - I am with you except for the last bit about Aquaman, as I know nothing about him. Only thing I know about him is that it was the nickname for Alberto Aquilani while he was at Liverpool, though the Invisible Man would have been more suited.}

Haha! Sounds about right ed. I just don't want it getting too comic bookey if you know what I mean. Batman was almost believable.

{Ed001's Note - not so sure I agree on that, a billionaire doing things for the good of others? You don't get anything more unbelievable than that!}

Just like Rupert Murdoch ed?

{Ed001's Note - unless you count marrying a fame hungry slapper as doing good?}

Keeps her away from the rest of us ed.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think too many of us are in her target demographic to be honest. Maybe Eds 3 and 25 but the rest are safe.}

I'll admit I was convinced when affleck was announced as batman. But based on the trailers an the Turkish airlines ad he should be alright.

I'm not sure how the too are going to mix though. Batman, with the exception of the campy tv series, has always been fairly dark. Supermans always been camp.

{Ed001's Note - actually some of the comics of Superman were dark, it was only TV and movies that made him camp, I believe. At least judging by the ones I have seen, not being a fan of his that is only a small pool of knowledge of them I am drawing on.}

Same ed. I've only seen the films, the reeve ones and the god awful reboot. Might have read couple of comics but I was more of a marvel fan growing up. For some reason the library stocked marvel but not dc.

{Ed001's Note - I could never afford comics, but a kid at school collected Marvel and Star Wars ones, so those were the ones I read.}

Ah the library had a decent collection. That an tintin.

{Ed007's Note - I stole loads of Asterix the Gaul books from our local library and the school one. I've still got them all upstairs somewhere.}

Shocking. I remember the time I went an there was no tintin. Had to start asterix instead.

{Ed007's Note - And I bet you were delighted with them - TinTin was garbage till he got a decent hair do and started doing the Fallout games :)

They was alright. Filled many an hour.

{Ed007's Note - Have you seen any of the films they made over the years?}

I've seen the animated asterix in Britain. But none of the live action ones with Gerard Depardieu in.

{Ed007's Note - The Depardieu one I seen was awful, like everything else I've seen him in. Some of the cartoons are quite good, there's one I watched in a drunken/stoned haze years ago with a group of mates that blew our mind, it was very trippy with psychedelic artwork etc. and it became a staple of our viewing along with the Cheech and Chong movies.
I was trying to work out what one it was from a list there and the first film was made in 1967! That's 7 years before I was even born - I thought the books were only from the 80s. I feel a day of watching the films on the horizon now after talking about them.}

Yeah the books are 60s/70s mainly. So probably got trippy stiff in there. All that magic potion stuff. I know one of the guys died an the other one carried on but think he's retired now.

{Ed007's Note - I didn't know that, seems he died in 1977 but quick Google search shows that books have still been coming out every 3/4 years with the final one only last year. I'll need to try and get a hold of the newer ones - I wonder if I'm still banned from the local library.... ;)

Heard some of the solo ones were bit mixed but I think the later ones he had help. Tempted to have a look.

{Ed007's Note - I'm definitely going to check them out.}

Yeah he retired an two new guys took over. Asterix and the picts.

{Ed007's Note - I think we should get some kind of royalty deal, there can't be too many people on the internet talking about Asterix. We're a right pair of hipsters :) Thinking back on it there was probably a lot of the historical and political jokes I didn't get at the time. I'm actually sitting in bed going to look through Netflix for any of them lol

Oh yeah lots of stuff like that especially the newer ones it seems. I been reading synopsises on wpedia.

{Ed007's Note - I've been doing that too! And I watched Asterix the Gaul on Youtube last night :)
