I'm happy to see some activity on this page now. I tried months ago and it was pretty dead, so in the hope of helping continue that. any recommendations for great comedies?

My all timer is probably Midnight Run, De Niro absolutely brilliant playing it so straight, opposite Charles Grodin as the always irritating "the duke".

{Ed001's Note - what sort of age are you talking? I mean the age of the film, not your mental age, as you are able to type in complete sentences so it clearly rules out Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler movies.....}

In recent times the one comedy I enjoyed was kingsman secret service.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen that yet.}

Nice one Ed, just about got the hang of those complete sentences! Not too bothered about age really if you think it's a recommend, i'd be curious to hear. And agreed on Sandler, i'm still waiting for his next decent one to follow up Happy Gilmore! That must be 20 odd years ago.

And Reet, Kingsmen was good fun. Sam L does a good turn as usual.

{Ed001's Note - I have always said Happy Gilmore was the only good film he made, the rest are just repeats of it. I honestly can't think of a good comedy I have seen recently.}

I think your sense of humour will ultimately decide this. I liked horrible bosses (both films),Super troopers is always one of my favourite comedy capers,but if you don't like comedy surrounding actionas and stupidity you won't like it ,(it's what i like to think of as Laurel and hardy for the modern age)
Even though the film was pretty average I thought the change up had some brilliantly timed jokes and sequences that had me in stitches.

One of the alternatives I would suggest too,as a mockery would be Kung Pow fists of Fury it's a bit left field and out there,but the writing and use of old film is brilliant.

{Ed001's Note - I agree on Horrible Bosses, I like both of those.}

Oh and I forgot to add anything at the moment with Paul Rudd in seems to be a hit. He's the bankable deadpan one liner that comedy writers love,hence why I think he was picked for Ant Man

I think most modern comedy films are shocking. Trying to think of anything I've seen in the last decade I've liked.

{Ed013's Note - I enjoyed Dumb and Dumber 2, but maybe im just dumb ;-)

You can't beat Ted the first one

{Ed001's Note - the talking teddy one? That was truly awful I thought.}

Ted had its moments where I did genuinely laugh, like the whole "sheep on the carpet" scene, I thought that was funny.
