Anyone here really looking forward to Civil War? Myself, I am extremely hyped for it the trailer looks great the spiderman tease was brilliant imo and always liked the Winter Soldier as a character. Apparently this is going to give a big indication of the stories planned in phase 3 with the original avengers may be being phased out for the infinity stone. Will be interesting to see whose life they pull the trigger on if they do actually. Maybe Captn? Iron Man is too liked to kill him.
Gonna be a cracker hopefully especially after the abysmal disappointment of BvS.

ReetRed

{Ed001's}Note - yes yes yes, properly excited here!!~

1.) 11 Apr 2016 22:20:13
Well if they stick to the original storyline of the comic only one is buying the farm.

So who's really looking forward to Deadpool? Or will you all be busy celebrating valentines? Personally dead excited for this one. The trailer looks brilliant Reynolds seems to have nailed the character and the scene where he shoots the three men with the same bullet is worth the entire cost of watching.

ReetRed

{Ed001's Note - I am really looking forward to it, as is my brother in law to be, we are planning to take our other halves along to watch it.}

Ed001
Yougot some partner if she's willing to watch deadpool and valentines weekend. Think it's going to be a cracker. Hopefully they can redeem deadpool after the abomination that was xmen origins wolverine
Btw i wanted to ask you ed whether you guys have a still spot open on tje poddies . Got a stable connection now

{Ed001's Note - the only issue is whether she can get time off or not, that is always the problem. She loves action movies. Wolverine is one of those films I am trying to forget I saw. It was just embarrassing, mind they keep using Huge Jackoff to play him, which is already off to a crap start as he just doesn't have any charisma nor does he have the physicality to be him.

We need to sort out who is when on the poddies, but yes mate, we will get you on one soon. Just waiting to find out if a Charlton youth coach can get permission off the club to appear. We want to ask him about Gomez and Shelvey and youth development in general. So we might have to put you back a week after we set a time for you, though his one will probably be an extra one.}

2.) 31 Jan 2016 13:27:03
Yeah sure not this week tho. Keep me posted after that

{Ed001's Note - ok mate.}

3.) 03 Feb 2016 13:17:07
Who would you cast ed instead of huge jackoff

{Ed001's Note - someone like Tom Hardy would have been better, he has the physical presence. It needs someone like that, someone menacing. Wolverine was always extremely imposing physically, which is something Jackoff never gets right. He always seems a bit lacking in that department.}

4.) 03 Feb 2016 21:31:19
Yeah know what you mean. He just seems a bit normal. Hardy would be good. Not the rock then.

{Ed001's Note - normal is a good word, he has no charisma. Jackoff is just a good looking bloke with no ability to act and no screen presence. The Rock is not right, Wolverine is meant to be a highly trained martial artist, Rock has no footwork or movement, just power and bulk.}

5.) 04 Feb 2016 09:09:32
hmm.

I looked into who could play wolverine who has martial arts background and is big,there really isn't much to go off.

There's scott adkins but he's only 5'10'' (he was meant to be in origins movie but was cut out)

Maybe matt mullins . There's really not of actors going around with martial arts/fighting back ground who are big and can act sadly.

Maybe I should audition? i'm 5'11 boxed for 3 years and reached pruple belt in karate before I had to quit for school.

I got great reviews in my school nativity play as joseph when I was 7

{Ed001's Note - Wolverine is meant to be good looking though, so unfortunately that rules you out mate.}

6.) 04 Feb 2016 14:03:21
Yeah I'm with bob there, there isn't many martial artists who can act.

Jackoff is just Joe average not a stand out

{Ed001's Note - those that can are not usually big guys either.}

7.) 04 Feb 2016 14:20:50
You don't fancy lending me some money for some ''work'' then? football-rumours-loans.co.uk. I can see it taking off typical APR 1892

{Ed001's Note - at that rate of interest I think I would consider it....}

8.) 05 Feb 2016 16:38:08
I was ex footballers with an intimidating presence maybe the way to go then.

9.) 16 Feb 2016 02:42:13
Wolverine is actually a short character, something like 5'10" in great physical condition. Jackman has always been wrong physically but hardy isn't a much better representation of the character.

{Ed001's Note - isn't Tom Hardy about 5'9" or 10"?}

10.) 16 Feb 2016 22:22:39
Had to look it up but yeah you are right Ed. I guess I always thought he was bigger due to his ability to steal the limelight in every film/scene he stars.

if he was given the chance of the role would hope he brings the same sort of raw aggression that he gave in bronson then he could really do the character justice.

A truly great representation of the x men universe would gave to be r rated and would give hardy the best opportunity to eradicate the Jackman attempts.

{Ed001's Note - that is why I think he would work so well, he has that charisma that Wolverine always seemed to have in the comics. It was always just a case of turning the pages until he showed up in X-men stories. None of the other characters are as interesting as him, except maybe Gambit.}

Who would everyone like to see as the new Bond if they can't convince Craig to come back? Who IMO was the best Bond ever.

ReetRed

{Ed001's Note - I agree on him being the best ever, not sure who could replace him. I honestly can't think of anyone off the top of my head.}

1.) 19 Nov 2015 16:37:52
I know I'll get flak for this. I am by no means a racist but I just wouldn't want to see Idris Elba in the role. Yes he is a good actor, changing a traditional character like Bond it just wouldn't do for me. When you think of Bond you get a certain image and I just wouldn't want to change that next time i go to a bond movie. The Pc brigade thinks otherwise though. As for someone to replace him
Fassbender would be a good choice IMO.(Magneto) Another one who would fit is Statham if they decide to make itan all out action affair

{Ed001's Note - Fassbender doesn't have the right physicality for my liking.}

2.) 19 Nov 2015 21:07:40
Idriss is a top bloke and a great but I don't see him as bond. Fassbender I'm not sure on. And I don't think Damian Lewis is right for it.

As for best. Dalton is closest to book bond. Connery is the template. And Craig is very good.

3.) 20 Nov 2015 11:48:33
Oh and as an outside shot. Andrew Lincoln from the walking dead?

4.) 20 Nov 2015 11:47:53
He's still contracted for another film isn't he?

Gerard Butler may be one,as long as he doesn't have to do an accent and could be himself he's not a great actor but against previous bonds he can't be much worse.

I liked Chitwell Ejiofor in Serenity,playing the bad man,and he did some good actions shorts.

It would be nice to see it go to some one well under 40,that's always been my main stickler with Bond,I can't imagine a 40 year old doing the stuff he does.

5.) 22 Nov 2015 09:17:11
Henry Cavill has the Bond look about him.

6.) 22 Nov 2015 11:50:18
Isn't he the guy in person of interest? If so then yeah.

7.) 22 Nov 2015 15:45:24
Mort I think that's Jim Calviezel

8.) 23 Nov 2015 14:11:30
Michael Caine.

My names James Bond, not a lot of people know that.

9.) 23 Nov 2015 22:36:39
Yeah I always get them two confused. Thanks bobatron.

Finally found the time to catch Minions. What a disappointment 😢

ReetRed

{Ed001's Note - that bad?}

1.) 18 Jul 2015 08:19:46
Yup ed. I almost considered walking out at interval. Last film that disappointed so much was Annabelle . It wasn't that bad particularly but the fact was that the despicable me films were so good minions was a huge disappointment

{Ed001's Note - I haven't actually seen them so I won't be disappointed by that. Never heard of Annabelle either.}

2.) 18 Jul 2015 10:15:51
I'd really recommend the two despicable me movies. Annabelle was thr spinoff to the conjuring. Based on a true story. The story's the real one is a bit freaky

{Ed001's Note - not seen the Conjuring either, doesn't appeal to me at all to be honest.}

3.) 19 Jul 2015 15:20:25
Ed001
Each to his own i guess. Found some scens from the Conjuring genuinely scary. P.s ed you'll be signing up for the fantasy league?

{Ed001's Note - I don't have time for it mate, been a bit busy trying to find a place to live, oh and getting engaged =o)

4.) 19 Jul 2015 16:37:21
Congratulations buddy. It would only take ten minutes mate. The time you would waste daily looking for Ed025 since he's gone AWOL

{Ed001's Note - we never look for Ed025, you can hear the women screaming and just head to where they are running from and, hey presto, there is Ed025. I might do it if I get time, but I doubt it was I am starting a project with my daughter, as she wants to be an illustrator we are going to do an online comic together. She is going to do the artwork, while I do the scripts, so I need to get some scripts written for her to work on.}

5.) 19 Jul 2015 16:46:31
Good luck with that buddy. Plain old stories or something specific?

{Ed001's Note - depends on what she wants to draw, she has talent I would like to encourage it. The best kind of art comes from what is done for pleasure, in my opinion. So I am going to try and write with the aim of giving her things to draw she will enjoy doing.}

6.) 19 Jul 2015 17:20:47
Good for you. Good luck

So how many of you'll be watching ant man? Just not feeling up for it. Think marvel are harming MCU with introducing new characters right now that too so many

ReetRed

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure on this one, I have no idea who Ant Man is, so it is difficult to get excited about it. I will see it if the missus wants to watch it, I guess.}

1.) 08 Jul 2015 21:53:57
I'll watch it but I think marvel should go the way the latter batman movies have. Darker, less comical then I think they'll be much more bearable to watch.

Although I did really enjoy guardians of the galaxy

{Ed001's Note - so what is Ant Man?}

2.) 09 Jul 2015 16:35:43
A man gets to wear this suit that shrinks him to the size of an ant obviously he's very strong as ants are supposed to be and I'm not overly sure on the plot.

Oh and his arch nemesis is what I can only Imagine his name being wasp man.

There's a scene on the trailer of ant man v wasp man fighting and a train is hurtling towards them and crashes into them. it's a child's toy train!!!

Sounds good don't it?

I will watch it as I do all marvels but I can't help feeling it's going to majorly fail.

{Ed001's Note - I remember being similarly sceptical about Guardians of the Galaxy and yet ended up enjoying that immensely. Hopefully Ant Man will be the same, but it doesn't seem good.}

3.) 11 Jul 2015 12:26:19
I hope to god Marvel doesn't go too dark and deathly. Their characters on the main even in the comics were meant to be cock sure of themselves and it was aimed at a younger audience for laughs and heros.
I think we all learned from the fall out of man of steel going ''dark'' doesn't make a good film. The fallout of the comicon types to the death of zod was pretty large as well as Superman showing a violent streak when zod touches his mother.

I think what has made amrvel much more successful so far than DC has been its ability to have childish frolics for the young audience and in jokes for adults. EG the use of a dancing groot that can only say 3 words that kids love,then jokes such as Quill mentioning the jackson pollock painting.

I think the only chraracter where maybe you'd want to go down a more adult themed path would be the hulk. (I don't think they planned another movie in stage 3. He walked away from black widow,attempted suicide and is a character that for me offers little in the way of humourous dialogue.

Any way back to Ant Man. I think it looks good. I don't think Rudd(great comedy actor) would have jumped on board and helped write/act this if it didn't have potential. I'm unsure of the appointing of evangeline lilly. She wooden for me,but michael douglas should bring some acting heat. I'll certainly go see ity as I think almost every marvel film has been spot on.

4.) 14 Jul 2015 23:06:01
Just seen the TV advert for it, looks hilariously bad. But then again, I've never really been a fan of comic-book movies.

The Avengers was only just watchable for me, The Dark Knight movies were Ok but the rest I felt have all been sub-par, especially fight scene in Man of Steel.

{Ed001's Note - you didn't like the second Captain America?}

5.) 15 Jul 2015 12:40:24
I haven't watched the Captain America movies, they just don't interest me. Comic book movies never really have.

I just don't understand why they have to wear a silly costume, why can't they just wear a mask and be normal looking? Why do they have to stand out like they do, wearing a pair of tights and a silly mask >_

{Ed001's Note - because they are super heroes and the point is to mark them out as beacons of hope in a sea of hopelessness.}

6.) 15 Jul 2015 13:09:05
But why do they have to look so stupid?

I mean who wears their underpants over their trousers? Seriously!

And Batman, with all that money and technology, he couldn't create a voice changing device? Instead of grunting like he was auditioning for a Death Metal band.

I don't know, I guess I've just lost the inner child in me.

{Ed001's Note - you do sound a bit grumpy! They are fantasy, does it really matter? You have to suspend credulity when you watch most films these days, it is poetic license taken to the nth degree, so the least of it is the fact they have underpants over their trousers. After all Ed025 wears his like that every day and has done for over 75 years now.}

7.) 18 Jul 2015 08:35:38
On a related note the winter soldier watched that for the 6th time. Still effing love it

{Ed001's Note - I really like that one, even though I have never liked Captain America.}
