Good evening Ed's!
With the weather being horrible here in Ireland and having all the time in the world to watch movies, I'm unsure of what to watch and would appreciate a few recommendations if you have the time to name a few.

I used to love horror movies, but having seen It Follows (decent movie btw) and not being able to find Unfriended on Showbox, there's not many new horror movies I haven't seen.

However I'm not watching just Horror movies, I've recently taken a liking to movies like Run All Night, Project Almanac, Chappie etc. All good movies however I'm not sure what type of genre in particular which I like!

Anything except war, gore and comedy (can't seem to find a comedy which is actually funny these days)! My only other restriction is something from the last ten years or so if possible, old movies just don't seem to be my thing!

Thanks Ed, appreciate your time!

{Ed001's Note - I asked the editors, will give you more of a varied bunch of films to watch:
Ed007 suggested Chappie.
Ed025 said Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy that's a comedy though.
Ed004 thought of Kingsman and Warrior (I agree on Warrior if you haven't seen it).
We all agreed on Equaliser.
If you were looking for a comedy it has to be the Horrible Bosses films that are worth a go.
The ones I would suggest are Sabotage with Arnie (surprisingly good I thought), Last Knights with Clive Owen and Wild Card was ok too. One to avoid Birdman, utterly awful, so boring I couldn't sit through it all.}

1.) Cheers for the recommendations Ed's! I've seen the Equaliser, great movie, same with Kingsman. I'll have to take a look at Warrior, I've heard plenty of people mention it before but I never got around to watching it! Recent comedies have failed to impress me so far, but I suppose I could give the ones you've mentioned a watch! Birdman was never a movie that appealed to me in the first place, seemed to be more cringe than anything else!

Appreciate your help Ed's, keep up the good work!

{Ed001's Note - Ed007 also suggested Elysium and Ed004 suggested Hunger Games and Divergent, both of which my daughter loves. Ed004 also said Lawless.}

Hey Ed, just wondering have you any recommendations for any horror movies out now (or soon) that I could go see? I went to see The Babadook yesterday and I must say I wasn't impressed. Don't know why it has such rave reviews as I didn't find it scary at all. It took about 45 mins for anything to happen and even when it did it was fairly anti-climatic. The last 15 mins was the only part I found slightly scary and good, but 15 mins out of 100 does not deserve to be labelled as the best horror of the year, unless the standard is very low this year. i'd give it a mere 6/10 at best, and that's only because of the ending. Then again I'm more of a jump scare man myself! So yeah, any recommendations Ed? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Like with any other genre people have different views on different films. For me, the two "Dr Phibes" movies are two of the better horror movies. For one of my wives "Calvaire" might top the list. I am sure others will help out.}
