went to see iron man 3 with my little lad today, for me easly best iron man filom to date but I hated the twist, it just didn't sit right with me. there was actually moments in this movie it could have turned into a buddy cop movie between rhodey and stark. it was nice to see downeys dramatic acting chops appear as the all too arrogant abd brash billionaire playboy was getting boring. all in all a good comic book movie that sets a fairly high bar and I hpe the rest of the comic book movies follow suit.

Can't stand iron man, RD jnr is too arrogant and smug with his "acting"

Sorry can't agree the film has to be worst from that selection so far. Ruined Iron Man and the plot was just silly. In the Avengers Iron Man fought Thor, Aliens etc and his suit could cope in this movie it falls apart very easily. Coud go on and on, very disappointed in it.

The suit falls apart because it is a prototype as it is mentioned numerous times in the film.

Stark is supposed to be smug. He's a playboy billionaire genius engineer. He has a fleet of fast cars, can have any woman he wants and then he builds his iron man suit. Who wouldn't be smug. Besides the character was a bit less smug after his life changing kidnap in the first one. He's getting smug again because of the suit. He's a less serious version of batman as in he's not a revenge driven homicidal maniac, but what Wayne could have been as a rich playboy and what Alfred tries to get him to be. As for Downey's performance yes he does tend to ham it up, but unlike most of his American contemporaries he can actually act and does at least have a range rather than being wooden and one dimensional. I'd rather have someone chew the scenary than plod through a film monotone with just one somewhat vacant expression. Its no surprise that British and Irish actors get so many key roles in Hollywood these days as they can act. The only good American actors are Damon and DiCaprio.

Not every suit was a prototype.

Any body excited about the new star trek {Ed001's Note - not in the slightest, never seen a good Star Trek film, and I include the last one in that.}

The last one was the least star trek film out the lot. Not sure why they needed a reboot with Kirk, should have let it lie. O no wait there's a profit to be made.

Have to disagree (sorry) never been into Star Trek, but loved the last film, an don't even know why.

Code

Well firstly it shows a lack of imagination in having to do a reboot using characters first invented almost 50 years ago, instead of creating something new.

Then the characters themselves are misused. A Spock - Kirk - Uhura love triangle? Really? Scotty was miscast as well. Although the guy playing McCoy was spot on, could have been him!

Then the story largely sucked. Yet another alternate reality storyline. Yawn.

JJ Abrahams is the most over rated hack in Hollywood.

Which Star Trek have you been watching? Because it's certainly not the same one as the rest of us. Where is this Spock, Kirk, Uhura love triangle? I'll tell you, there isn't one. Which Star Trek have you been watching? Because it's certainly not the same one as the rest of us.

Er how about Kirk spends most of his time with Uhura trying to chat her up and get her first name. Which she won't tell him. He's clearly interested. Instead she's all over Spock. that's a love triangle TK.

How about another next generation film? It would be good to see Picard et al for one last time, ala what they did with the original Star Trek. {Ed039's Note - I would say just leave them alone, I like the new Star Trek movies for what they are but you are never going to beat the old ones, I am not a Trekkie by any means but I enjoy the movies and watching some of the episodes, but it has been done to the death. I would let this particular series lie now, but like a previous poster said ....... there is a profit to be made)

Just watched Dark Skies. had to turn my lights on after 30min.
Don't normally do this with horrors/thrillers but I was strangely freaked out by it. maybe it had something to do with the sleep paralysis I had last year where I woke up (i thought i'd woke up) to see a hairy being standing over me.

O sorry about that I thought I had her locked up.

Funnily enough the same thing happened to me. But I took advantage of the situation lol

James (been smiling ever since that night lol)

Wot about the ace Django Unchained, hope they release the full 5 hour film uncut on dvd, Tarentino says a lot of the violence was cut from film, a must buy for me.

01 Apr 2013 22:40:30
Anybody looking forward to the evil dead on Friday I just hope they don't put any funny bits in it totally ruins the film.

Thats how the original was {Ed001's Note - I was thinking that myself. I was wondering if I was just getting mixed up with the sequels, as it has been a very long time since I saw the original. In fact I am pretty sure it was still banned when I watched it.}

02 Apr 2013 23:25:49
i thought they started serious and lapsed into parody by army of darkness

Na they still had funny bits like when he chopped a hand off and it crawled off and stuck its finger up at him, the medieval one was a bit silly tho {Ed001's Note - was that not in the second one? I can't remember now.}

Maybe, i'm not to sure. I ain't seen any of them in years {Ed001's Note - same here, but I seem to remember that being the second one. I really need to sit down and watch them again to remind me.}

Me and my brother use to rewind the part when the guy jumps on the basement door, and her eyeball pops out flying across into somebody mouth.

we'll funny, thanks for the lost memory cheers pal
