Any thoughts on the new BatMan? {Ed008's Note - I think Ben Affleck is a very good choice to play the Batman role I can't recall a film where he's done a fight scene so look forward to that. I was really hoping Christian Bale would have returned for this film then pass the BatSuit for a younger character at the end with the Justice League films coming soon hopefully.
Really want to know how many films Affleck has signed up for to play Batman also the rumour is he accepted the role knowing that the film company will fund his films he makes if anyone hasn't seen the films he produces/acts in aswell check out The Town and Argo great films and shows he's improved a lot forget Daredevil everyone has a bad film in their life.

He had fight scenes in daredevil Ed.

Mort {Ed001's Note - yeah and he was awful in them! Having said that, since then he has gone on to be excellent in The Town (I think it was called that) and shown he can act. He isn't the choice I would have made, but I think Bale is poor, and yet the Dark Knight trilogy was excellent. I doubt Affleck is any worse an actor than Bale, so it will be up to the director to come up with a film which can match those three. That will be no easy task!}

And Argo is a great film.

Fair enough ed. I thought bale was alright. Especially compared to his two predecessors. Mort {Ed001's Note - an improvement, yes, alright, yes, but great films deserve great performances and he didn't provide one.}

Out of curiosity who would have been you're choice?

Other than Donnie Yen, of course.

Mort {Ed001's Note - that is a good question! I have been trying to think who would have that right combination of playboy looks, with the swagger and speed of movement to play it. The odd thing is, the one who comes to mind first is Tom Hardy, he was badly wasted as Bane, he would fit much better as Batman. Robert Downey Jr is a great playboy, but it would be odd to see Iron Man playing Batman! Matt Damon has shown the ability to play an action hero, with his Bourne work, maybe him. The more I think about it, the less options there seem to be and the better the choice of Affleck seems. There are just not that many good action stars in Hollywood these days.}

Agreed Ed, it says it a when you see the expendables and all the great action stars are in it and you realise most of them have bus passes!

Tom Hardy would have been a good choice and as he never showed his face as Bane wouldn't cause any continuity issues. But I don't think he wants to commit to a multi film franchise.

Downey Jr, yeah he could do the playboy stuff easy. I'm not convinced on him in fight scenes though as odd as that sounds with Iron Man.

Matt Damon could handle the rough stuff, and he's a great actor, one of the best around. Not sure if he makes a convincing play boy, but its hardly essential. But I don't think he wants to commit to another franchise, probably unless Greengrass is involved.

Mort {Ed001's Note - does kind of leave Affleck on his own.}

How about joe maganiello, he was in line to play supes before cavill took it. he looks a perfect fit to me.
huddz red {Ed001's Note - I have no idea who he is, even when I looked him up just now, I just looked and thought, who?}

Wasn't he in the pacific? if I got the right one. Mort.

Joey Tribbiani? Only joking he's the The big Wearwolf out of True Blood not the best actor but Alexander Scarsgards good.

I don't think affleck has the voice or gravitas to play batman, don't get me wrong I'm not a hater and have enjoyed most of the films of his I have seen. But he's just not BIG enough to carry the character.
Liono 74

Does anyone think James Franco given a bit of combat Training would have been a good choice.

Surely mark wahlberg would have been better {Ed001's Note - but he can't act.}

Wahlberg would turn it into a comedy probably. I said Franco I think he's too small but I just watched "Now You See Me" very enjoyable by the way. His little brother is in it & he would make a great Robin.

Larky Bear

Ed neither could Clooney but he still got cast and Affleck isn't the greatest either. Think its too big for Wahlberg. {Ed001's Note - I would never have chosen Clooney either and Affleck has shown signs of ability in recent flicks. Certainly something you could never say about Wahlberg. Even his voice is just pathetic.}
