Any one watch Game Of Thrones? I think its fantastic! Any theories on what happens with John Snow? I think he is going to end up being the son of Ned Starks sister and Robert Baratheon. Making him the true heir to the Iron throne. Just my theory anyway.
KiwiRed

Good theory as his mother is yet to be identified, but im gonna go with no....

Jigglypoof

Fair enough Jigglypoof. Do you have any theories mate?
KiwRed

Not really mate. I only said no because I cant think of anyone alive who would know the truth? Maybe it gets implied and know one ever finds out? I kind of know what happens to him having spoke to friends who have read the books, but obviously I dont want to say anything as it would spoil it for you.

Jigglypoof

To get to where the books are up to will be about 5 season of GOT. They are going to split each book into 2 seasons moving forwards to ensure they cover as much as possible.

I haven't read the books (Currently in the middle of book 3), and it is getting better. Giants, White Walkers (Others), Wargs. Can't wait for it to all kick off.

Love the series, especially because absolutely anyone can die. Dont get attached to anyone.

My guess, is that Danaerys will come back with grown dragons and defeat the Others to save the kingdom. Only Dragon glass and fire can kill an Other.

I think Jon saves a lot of people but is left for dead after being attacked and you dont know what happens to him as the next book has not been written. But lots of major characters to die or be maimed before then. Look forward to the Red Wedding.

ed any idea what will be bigger spiderman or dark knight rises {Ed001's Note - you would expect Dark Knight Rises to be the bigger one, just because all previous Spiderman films have been so poor. Dark Knight has a good base to build from, whereas Spiderman has to do what Batman Begins did and get rid of the stigma of the previous dross.}

I thought the first Spiderman was alright, 2nd wasn't as good and 3rd was poor as they tried to do too much in one film.

Agreed though DKR has a great platform underneath it so will be a massive success. I'm just a little in doubt where it will go once Nolan and Bale have departed. {Ed001's Note - the first Spiderman? You mean the first of the reboots I take it? The original one was dire, mind I wasn't impressed with any of the reboots, despite being a huge Spiderman fan as a kid.}

Spider-man 1 and 2 poor? Now you have every right to dislike them, but from a critical and commercial point of view they are hardly flops.... The 3rd one did suck balls though.

Jigglypoof {Ed001's Note - critical view they were awful, from a commercial point of view they made money. Irrelevant what you say, I was giving an opinion on the film, not whether they made money, which means nothing to me, the films were poor.}

Yes in your opinion they were poor, but critically neither were panned, both have positive reviews..

Jigglypoof {Ed001's Note - so what's your point? Are you just here to be a knob or something? They are rubbish films, who cares what the critics say? They claimed the Michael Keaton Batman was brilliant, it was utter dog turd. So what exactly are you trying to say? The Spiderman films were dross in my opinion, what exactly has that to do with anything the critics say?}

Thought there were only the 3 spiderman films, the recent ones. Only other thing i've seen is the cartoon, which was pretty good.

To jigglyppofs comments, in your view Ed, they are rubbish films, thats your opinion. I personally don't think that they are in the rubbish category, but i would say they go from average to below average. As for what the critics say, well they can make or break a film, look how they all raved over the artist, now that is a rubbish film, yet it got rave reviews, cleaned up at the box office and won awards. But again its down to individual taste and thats subjective i suppose. {Ed001's Note - yes, but I gave my opinion on them and he was trying to say I was wrong because of what critics have said. I am not a sheep, I can make up my own mind and they were rubbish, no better than the original.}

I have only just got round to reading this and to be honest im shocked by your language and aggressive attitude. I never said you werent entitled to an opinion? Nor have a belittled it. The original poster asked you what would be bigger Batman or Spider-man? To which you replied "Spider-man has to do what Batman begins did and get rid of the stigma of the previous dross" I was only pointing out that apart from the 3rd one, the series is regarded a critical and commercial success. I was just trying to understand from where you got the view that Spiderman needed to get rid of this stigma that has been attached to it? I thought I was offering something to the conversion.... obviously I wasnt. Next time you have a problem with one of my comments, I would prefer it if you dealt with it without resorting to name calling. I appreciate the Eds for the time they put into running the site and I thank them for it. If I offended you I apologize.

Jigglypoof {Ed001's Note - no you attempted to prove my opinion wrong, about the previous films being poor, by mentioning how critics loved them. Critics made have loved them, but they were not good films and they were not known as good films. They were the kind of films you took your kids to see, not the kind of films you go with your mates to watch. That is a stigma that Marvel wanted to get rid of, they wanted them to be like Avengers, a film that everyone booked in advance to see. That hasn't happened, purely because the previous films are still fresh in people's minds and they were not good enough to make it seem a good prospect.}

I was just pointing out thats your opinion, which I stressed you are entitled to have. Maybe I didnt word my post well enough and that has caused a lot of unnecessary grief for both of us. My opinion is completely different. I went to see all 3 films with my mates and enjoyed them (well 2 of them). It doesnt make me a sheep, as I have the right to an opinion just as you do. I was making the point of the films critical and commercial success, as that is the easiest way to gauge a films overall popularity. Would you not agree? If they were not known as good films you could of just said that and given me a source to read up on why. I would of come back and the discussion would of continued but with me being able to see your point view.

Jigglypoof {Ed001's Note - but they weren't a commercial success, the first was, the second did ok but wasn't liked and the 3rd flopped. It has clearly hindered the new one, they have been hyping it up but no one cares. Even my daughter, who is usually desperate to go see the latest film advertised on kids telly, has no interest in going to see it because the other 3 were, in her words, rubbish. All her friends are saying similar things about it too. That is what I was referring to by the stigma of the previous films. It is the same with me personally, because the other 3 were just awful, I have not had any interest in seeing this one and won't go and see it.}

They all took around 800 mill. For movies that didnt have the extra revenue from 3D thats pretty impressive. If you take in to consideration the extra money added for the adjustment in inflation Spider-man is only 100 mill behind The Avengers in America, again not bad as it wasnt in 3D. But again you have to take in to consideration that the worlds economy is screwed and people just arent going to the cinema as much, which I imagine must of hurt The Avengers overall takings...

Jigglypoof {Ed001's Note - exactly, and they were projecting much more for the Spiderman films.}

for any one who can't wait for dredd to come out the first trailer is out tomorrow. woohoo!!!, on a side note play.com have a mega sale on, i just got a 32gb usb for a tenner. not bad.
huddz red

Looks rubbish

Yeah ok, i think it looks awesome. i am a massive dredd fan and used to collect 2000 AD. yeah ok it has comparisons to 'the raid' (redemption) but what do you expect with a low budget. any way, as long as it doesn't end up like stallones crap dredd back in 95 then it will be ok. i have highish hopes for this and can't wait.
huddz red

Dont look good at all!

I dont like his helmet and he has put on a stupid Batman growl..

ed just thinking what has ben the best film you have seen in 3d
for me they are all the same as 2d buut you pay more {Ed001's Note - I feel the same, I have to admit I find 3d disappointing, I find it makes me feel sick watching them. I loved Avengers, but that was not because of the 3d, it was because it was a great film.}

So true ed 3d is a gimmick never liked it sore head potential

Jedimindtricks {Ed001's Note - I am sure it could be good, but what we have at the moment isn't, it just isn't 3d. Hopefully they will improve the tech, but I certainly don't think it is worth paying extra for as it is.}

My top 3d films are tin tin, avatar, transformers 3.

Waghead

What i can't get my round is 3d tv, what is the point? I can understand in films, to an extent, but tv? I was in Newcastle for a stag do and they had sport on in 3d in one pub, the football on one screen and rugby on the other. Its just a fad that will soon disappear again like the other previous attempts. {Ed001's Note - I find watching sport in 3d makes me feel sick. Has anyone else had that?}

I only use my 3d tv for films the the quality is brilliant much better 3d experience that the cinema

Waghead

Tron was amazing in 3d

Was having a clear out of things and came across old cinema tickets. Around 12 years old. But the thing that struck me was the price...£4-£6. It got me thinking, all these recent movies breaking records on how much £ they make. Does the fact that tickes are double the price these days compared to films from a decade ago account for these figures? Just a wee thought

ed looking for a good comedy to watch any ideas {Ed001's Note - if you like silly comedy, and haven't seen it, the original Airplane takes some beating. It is not clever, but it is gag after gag after gag, all the way through, the sheer number of them has you laughing eventually.}

Tucker and Dale vs Evil {Ed001's Note - oh yeah, I forgot that one, it is surprisingly decent, as is Horrible Bosses to be fair.}

09 Jun 2012 18:40:01
Has anyone seen the grey with Liam Neeson? I thought it was absolutely brilliant.

09 Jun 2012 14:23:54
Watched payback season with Adam deacon and leo Gregory yesterday and just wanted to say great watch well worth getting just £8 at asda

Watched it online, an hour and a half of my life il never get back sadly

ed just read that the justice league is to be made

do you think it would be bigger than the avengers {Ed001's Note - personally, no, the characters are not as well known, so I doubt it will have the same buzz surrounding it. Or it could just be because I was more of a Marvel fan as a kid!}

The Justice League is Superman, Wonderwoman, the Flash, the Green lantern etc. I think they are very well known but would it be as good as the Avengers? I doubt it.
KiwiRed {Ed001's Note - I wouldn't put the Flash or Green Lantern as well known, only to comic book readers, or female fans of Ryan Reynolds, who now know who the Green Lantern is! I really don't like Superman, I have always found him to be the least interesting comic book character of all. Every film of his has been dross too. This just doesn't fill me with any excitement at all, unlike Avengers, maybe they just need to build some buzz around it with good teaser trailers though.}

Apparently there has already been a few scripts been wrote out, but they got canned. D.C are seemingly having another rewrite done but more like the current batman is -more darker and mature. there is also rumoured to be a reboot of green lantern ahead along with a flash film, which will be awesme. D.C have seen what joss wheadon has done with the avengers and are actively looking for someone who has the same affinity with comic books who can also direct that wheadon has. on a side note it seems hugh laurie(house) has signed up to be the villain in the new robocop film. (interesteing) anyway, i hope D.C do come up trumps with snyders superman and also follow suit with a few others, maybe like wonderwmon, martian manhunter, flash and aquaman. the marvel cinamtic has done a bang up job so far but don't forget they had a few stinkers out at first such as both hulk movies, fantastic four(so so bad) and daredevil to name a few. it will take time but expect a justice league movie before 2020.
huddz red {Ed001's Note - I am not keen on the idea of Hugh Laurie as a villain, I couldn't stand House because of his awful fake accent. Oh, and because I can't forget him as just a comedic partner of Stephen Fry, plus his parts in Blackadder, I just can't take him seriously.}

Lol at ed. i know what you mean, blackadder was awesome tho. if ony there was a blackadder film. baldrick would have a cunning idea.
huddz red {Ed001's Note - I did love Blackadder as a kid, not so sure a film would work now.}

MIB 3 is disappointingly boring

You cannot be anymore wrong

02 Jun 2012 10:54:34
Hey all has anyone seen Prometheus yet? No spoilers please just an out of 10 mark will do :). CheltBlue

10 but don't expect it to e like alien

Yeah it was good but like the guy above says.... Don't expect it to be like alien...... Just read today that there are plans for Prometheus to be a trilogy...... I'd give it a 8 out of 10......lots of questions unanswered n a bit rushed towards the end

5. I thought it was average....

Jigglypoof

Never seen the alien films and thought this was a really good film 8 {Ed007's Note - Get on the Alien films ASAP mate, the boxset I have is only surpassed with the 10 disc Matrix one I have, well apart from the umpteen Star Wars ones that I have collected over the years.}

Ed sorry to disapoint you ed007 i have not seen matrix either
what you reccommend matrix or alien {Ed001's Note - for me, the Matrix films are awful, I wouldn't bother with them, load of rubbish. The Alien films, on the other hand, are excellent.}

Only alien and aliens are good, alien 3 was meh! and number 4, well i won't even mention that monstrosity by name.
huddz red {Ed001's Note - to be honest, I had completely forgotten about 4, 3 is a decent film, just not compared to 1 and 2. I suppose it also depends on whether you count the AVP monstrosities as Alien films, if so there is a lot of dross!}

I thought alien was good not brilliant but 2 was the best and i thought 3 and 4 were good but they lost what alien was all about.
