Does anyone like the Omen series? {Ed007's Note - I was a fan when I was younger and have the box set, I do still stick them on every now and again.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i own the first one on dvd but for some reason never got the other 2.

Then on, i think, saturday night omen 2 was on. I hadn't seen it since i was 11 (don't ask) so was curious cos i couldn't really remember it.

Omen 3 as i recall wasn't that good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Omen 1 and 2 great, 3 was poor, 4 (if you knew there was one).... let's not speak about!

'If they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants. Men rise & fall like winter wheat but these names will never die. Let them say I lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses. Let them say i lived in the time of achilles'
U.P.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know some people don't like it but for me its a quality film. Have you seen the extended version? So much better. {Ed001's Note - what is it?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Troy Ed, the quote is Sean Bean's Odysseus.

The extra 30 odd minutes in the extended version do make a difference, for me anyway. {Ed001's Note - ah right, I only watched it once and I thought it was dire, absolute cack.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Each to their own ed, i think its an alright film, good one for the weekend, couple of beers. Not saying it couldn't be improved of course. {Ed001's Note - perhaps I just expected too much, but I loved the story of Troy and Odysseus as a kid, I just didn't think it did justice to a truly great story.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well first off i thought the bird who played Helen wasn't good enough. And Patroclus was far too girly. I think Brad Pitt struggled at first, but the extra 30 minutes strengthens the performance. O and Orlando Bloom is wet in everything he does.

The good bits, well i thought Hector was great. Bean and Brian Cox were very good and Peter O'Toole did well with what he had.

I'd give it a 7/10 overall.

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't seen the extended version, but i think it as a good movie, and different version of trojan ar than we read as a kid. it was a ok movie considering other bad movies that are out there for example, if anyone has watched 'alexander' with collin farrell. Now that as horrible, so much so that i deliberately skipped all collin farell movies after watching that.
U.P.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well thats it mate, compare it Alexander and Troy is the better film. {Ed001's Note - Alexander was abysmal, but being better than that doesn't make Troy good!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Step in the right direction though ed. Next time its on tv try it again, beats that jungle rubbish. {Ed001's Note - naw, I will give it a miss, unless the choice is jungle or it.}

Gitta say it, whether your a United fan or not but Looking For Eric quality film.

The damned united is a better film

It is a good film, but Eric is very funny, love the idea of trashing some toerags house all disguised in masks.

Am I the only one really looking forward to the Avengers movie.

All of these super hero films over the last 10 years or so have turned me into a comic book geek. I have been reliably informed that if the main character doesnt have super powers, or there is no zombies involved, I rarely enjoy a film these days ha.

3 films I'm looking forward to over the next 12 months: (in no particular order)

1. Sherlock Holmes 2 - RDJ is an absolute legend. Cant get enough of him as Holmes/ Stark.
2. Dark Knight Rises - Need to see the final in this triliogy - Dark knight was possibly my favourite film ever
3. The Avengers - Been waiting quite a while for this - HULK, Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Black Widow and Hawk Eye. Going to be legendary if done right

2 films I hope will be good, but will probably be crap.

1.Underworld 4 - Really liked the first 2 - heres hoping this is better than the 3rd
2. Spiderman - Loved the first 2, hated the 3rd one.
Hope this is good, but i reckon it will be crap.

Stewie Griffin

Agree3 Disagree0

I'd agree with that list.

Agree1 Disagree0

I have been waiting on an Avengers film, since I was 10! The new Superman, looks promising, but I cant remember when its release date was pushed back too?

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, looking forward to sh2, avengers. Spiderman reboot , not too sure how it will be . Had hoped last ones to continue .
U.P.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought the new Superman had been scrapped.

I just hope they do it justice because Superman Returns was one of the worst films ever.

I think Superman is only done justice in the animated films, for obvious reasons. Much easier to have fight scenes etc. Lets see what they do with it.

Stewie Griffin

Agree0 Disagree0

The new Superman, is being directed by Zack Synder......I think?! So expect supes, to at least punch something this time...

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest i was never a fan of superman per se. The first 2 films were goodut he's just such a dull character, the worst of all the super heroes. {Ed001's Note - I am with you on that, Superman really isn't a good character, the only good thing in any Superman film was Richard Pryor's part. I do love the comic book heroes though, other than him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's got all those powers but just one weakness which he always seems to escape anyway. And he's so dull, too well behaved, and all that truth, justice and the american way or whatever it is blah. And the villains, lex luthor apart, are all dull as well.

I much prefer batman, ok he's a wealthy playboy millionaire, but the guy has serious issues, he has flaws, he's interesting! Also the villains are so much better as well, proper well drawn and rounded out characters, their as nuts as he is! And also a good supporting cast, Robin, Alfred Comm. Gordon so much better.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know about all of Supermans enemies being boring. Lex Luthor is awful and I just dont understand why they continually have him. However, the two strongest comic book villains are Supermans enemies (Darksied & Doomsday). If a film was made with these, it would be immense.

I think it is difficult to work with Superman because of how powerful he is meant to be. That is probably why the first few seasons of Smallville where good. he didnt have all of his powers.

Still agree that the Dark Knight trilogy is amazing. Best superhero films ever made due to the realism involved.

Does anyone know any good conspiracy films? {Ed001's Note - there is a Mel Gibson one called something like Edge of Darkness that is quite good, I thought anyway.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Capricorn one (i think that's wot it's called).......DH

Agree1 Disagree0

There is also another Mel Gibson called Conspiracy Theory which is an average to fair watch.

Did anyone else ever see the Great Escape 2: The Untold Story? The mostly fictionalised story of the hunt for the murderers.

Had the original Superman Christopher Reeve in it as the big name yank to get the money in one of the few non Superman roles i've seen in him in.

Also had TV's very own Lovejoy Ian McShane in the Dicky Attenborough role and in a nice twist Donald Pleasance as one of the sinister gestapo types behind the massacre.

Must have been about 20 years ago i saw it or nigh on 20 years and looks like its only available in vhs but did anyone else ever see it? {Ed007's Note - It was actually a two part TV show, but was released like a film on VHS. You can probably get it on DVD.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i saw it on tv, thought i'd put it on movies though in case more people saw it. Have looked on amazon and its on vhs.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've got it on Betamax

I got Thor the other night and me and my family sat down and watched the whole thing was pretty good with some comedy elements BUT can somebody explain to me why his brother could travel to the other realms without passing through the gate ( he let the snow giants into azgard) but when the gate was destroyed Thor was unable to get to earth to get some jiggy time with Natalie Portman

MJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Plot hole maybe? Or he had an unseen magic gizmo?

Im sure it will it will be explained in The Avengers. Though Loki, does have the ability to teleport.

Agree2 Disagree1

29 Nov 2011 00:09:54
OK - who's the greatest ever movie villain?

for me its got to be Clarence Bodicker in Robocop - just watched the film for the first time in years - he steals every scene - the look, the voice, the one-liners, the back-story and the greusome path of destruction he leaves -its the complete package...

who's your favourite villain?

and i'm not accepting hannibal lecktor - (A) he's from a book and (B) anthony hopkins just turns the role into a big slab of ham

AG

Agree1 Disagree0

Well the first one that sprung to mind was the tall albino murderer in Manhunter, but lately I would have to say Heath Ledger as The Joker in Dark Knight.

dmedly

Agree2 Disagree0

...or maybe Christophe Waltz as the German SS soldier in Inglorious Basterds.

Dar88

Agree3 Disagree0

Joker in The Dark Knight. Although many were others were great, Ledger's performance sticks in my mind.
Scotty. {Ed007's Note - Obviously The Joker is up there, but AG you said you can't pick Lecter because he is from a book, The Joker is from a comic book. Anyway, what about Tony Montana? Patrick Bateman? Walter E. Kurtz? Frank Booth?}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast is up there

Dar88 {Ed003's Note - How about Dastardly and muttley they were a nasty pair }

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah ed Tony Montana was great but he was as much hero as villain. How bout the Asian guy in Bloodsport {Ed001's Note - Bolo Yeung? He was great in Enter the Dragon as well, though he didn't age well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree with Dar88 about Gary Oldman in Leon. When he say's in the movie "GET ME EVERYBODY" it sends shivers down me...

Horrible bosses is funny plus you get to see jennifer aniston lookin fit and acting like a nympho... quality

MJ

Agree1 Disagree0

To be fair she's fit in most things. Only reason Bond keeps buying friends box sets ;) {Ed007's Note - I actually prefer the dark haired one.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah Bond's a Monica fan, could be worse you could have said Phoebe she was so annoying!! If i'd have livd in that apartment block, the first chord of Smelly cat and she'd have been meeting an accident with some industrial machinery. {Ed007's Note - The full programme was/is muck!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I always had a thing for Phoebe becuz you get the feeling you could pull her if you ever ran into her at the bar.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Bond it was alright for the first 3-4 years, then it started declining in the middle years. Basically it carried on far to long, typical Yanks to flog something too far. But you can't blame the actors i suppose, weren't they on about a million dollars each per episode by the last series? {Ed007's Note - Yeah they got crazy money for it, like you say though, you can't blame them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i see the point, but she'd do your head in after a bit.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want a really funny comedy id go with tucker and dale vs evil m8 even the storyline had me pissing myself....MovieBuff

Dodgeball is the business ed and Supertroopers. The Hangover is the most overated comedy along with Tropic Thunder I couldnt believe how s**te they were

Well ive just sat through The Thing 2011 and i must say i found this movie quiet grusome. I was under the impression that it was going to be another lame remake but was very suprised to find out that is is actually a prequel to the John carpenter original and to be honest it gets a 8/10 from me. The only thing i will say is if you miss just 1 second you will get lost as it is quiet hard to follow but all in all a good movie. Another bonus is the lead actor is Joel Edgerton who plays Tom Hardys brother in Warrior and must say im becoming a fan. If anyone else has seen this let me know what you think..... MovieBuff (Ed Great site for a movie nut like myself ive always wanted to review movies and now i can Thanks for all your hard work) {Ed001's Note - if you are interested in writing reviews we would love to have some reviews up on the site.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Was it honestly that good? i loved the first one and normally these prequal/remakes are rotten, what ever happened to kurt russell anyway?

KB

Agree1 Disagree0

Do you mean character or career wise?

Agree1 Disagree0

For me it was better than most movies of its genre around at the moment so i stand by my 8/10. and kurt russells career has been over for years ever since soldier in 98 and even that was just ok but hey he has 3 movies due out next year so you never know..... MovieBuff

just seen immortals-very good film

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched The Immortals last week. Thought it was good but not that great. Storyline was good enough and action was ok but felt it lacked the aggression and the characters were not as relatable as 300 for example.

There should have, I felt, been more time spent showing the building of the characters involved and the nature of the races involved. Then you would have felt more passionately about them and relate to them more.

bluegenius {Ed007's Note - What??? You Heathen!! :-) I understand mate, a lot of people don't like it. The B&W filming puts a lot of people off as well. I just think it creates a fantastic atmosphere, like Apocalypse Now etc done (and the boxing scenes are by far some of the best ever made). There aren't many films made like that any more, sadly. I have a ten DVD box set of The Matrix, which I think have been the best films in a while. Tarantino is also a bit hit and miss, Pulp Fiction and True Romance were great films, but I even think Reservoir Dogs is over rated when you watch it now. Sorry, I know they are not sports films, just the type of things I personally like, mate. Sorry to bore you there ;-) }

Agree0 Disagree0

Get what you mean ed, if used right b & w is quite effective, stuff like Schindler's list had more impact. Sin City is another good one for b & w, fits the style well.

Sports wise, Escape to Victory is always a good feel good film, we should amend the chant, 2 world wars, a world cup and a film lol.

Rocky, Ali and Raging Bull make a good trilogy of boxing, although i think Rocky 2 is the best of the series. Infact i'd go Rocky 2, Rocky 3, Rocky, Rocky 4, Rocky Balboa and Rocky 5. {Ed007's Note - I'm Scottish mate lol. We don't sing about World Cups and that, not much to sing about have we? :-)

Anyone heard about the new Human Centipede sequel? sounds absolutely disgusting... it has been banned by the UK pretty sure other countries will start to ban it as well.. Eds what do you think? {Ed007's Note - I should hope so, the first one was enough for me, there is no need to make films like that IMO.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't it get some sort of limited release in the end?

Surely the bloke who thought it up should be having a nice quiet chat with a couple of people in a nice comfortable padded room, preferably wearing his nice new jacket with the sleeves that tie up.

Honestly what kind of person even thinks of such a thing never mind goes and actually makes a film of it?

What sort of actor/ actress signs up to such a thing? I mean thats a great one to have on a cv. So tell me about your early career? Well i was in the Human Centipede. O tell me about that sounds fascinating....

Out there right now is some whacko watching this and thinking hey you know what thats a great idea, now there must be some dumb lost american tourists around here....

Completely agree. Nearly fell out with the missus over her putting it on in front of me cant hack twisted films like thet or Hostel. Just gives twisted little freaks ideas!

Dar88

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Hostel, Saw the lot lot are just wrong. I don't know who's worse the ones that make them or the ones that watch them.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 2nd one is worse than. The first its shot in black and white and the first 1 was just a movie and its a obsessed fan if u can stomach the 1st one don't watch its bad ..... but there is a film that is 100xs worse it made me feel sick and dirty very ahocking its called a serbian film it was just omg. It still haunts me I'd advise give it a miss ... rfc man

Agree1 Disagree0

Human Centipede 2 did get a 18 certificate in the end but I think around 30+ scene cuts were made from it, this is after the BBFC stated there was far to much to cut to give it any classification whatsoever!

Films like this and Hostel etc...are all about shock and seeing how far they can go, finding the boundary limit. The first film I ever watched and thought went too far was Wes Craven's Last House On The Left.

dmedly

Agree0 Disagree0

I made the mistake of watching 'A Serbian Film' NEVER AGAIN!

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree its a film that is hard to forget for all the wrong reasons makes saw hostal human centipede look like disny movies {Ed007's Note - The SAW films are atrocious as well IMO. They are like 70s/80s B-Movies, anyone had the misfortune of seeing Driller Killer?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have drilled killer and a lot of the video nastys shocking films for there day and yes saw is just a 2 hour torture films after the first 1 it was ok but a serbian film is shocking wich is a shame cos its gd acting and shot really gd but what u see will stay with u forever if u watch it and. Are not shocked and sickened u need to be locked up cos there is something wrong with u {Ed007's Note - I have never heard of it TBH with you. Don't think I should watch it even to be able to comment by the sounds of it. They were called 'video nasties' back in the day. I Spit On Your Grave would probably get a 15 rating nowadays!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

True ed they remade I spit on ur grave it got a 18 Yess I would give a Serbian film a miss its not worth it makes every other exploitation films look like disny film {Ed007's Note - Yeah, I Googled it mate, thanks for the tip off, I'll give that a miss I think. Moneypenny would be on the phone to my mammy and the priest if I put something like that on. It sounds horrendous.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah it is I doubt it will get a realise over hear i pray to god it doesn't it was one those films I heard about omg it was the sickest film. Ever made its shocking and i was like come on it can't be that bad omg was I wrong where is the line cos im my opinion. That didnt just cross it it pulled its pants down and took a dump on it

Agree0 Disagree0

I had to go and look it up after reading this convo. Quick pop to wikipedia, o my god words fail me. I only read the plot and that was enough. Depraved, evil, etc etc. I think it was that bad it killed my phone, hasn't worked properly since. {Ed007's Note - That was enough for me as well mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Weird bunch of people the Serbs, the bloke needs help, who would want to watch that, knowing in advance what it wa sabout. Fair enough if you didn't know quite what was coming but to actually go out your way for it, just wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't know what it was about I got told it was sick and the worst film made I thought it can't be that bad and as i said i was wrong its not ! film I wrnt out mu way to see cos i knew what happend if i knew I would not have watched it sickened me i was only warnimg ppl to stay clear

I am surprised though that they didn't do more with Jolie, i know they weren't the greatest of films but compared to some of the cack around nowadays.... {Ed007's Note - I think it is because Jolie is too old to play a younger Lara.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but the first 2 were only made about 10 years ago, they could have done another one a couple of years ago, and Jolie isn;t in bad shape for her age.

So its yet another reboot. But do we really need to see young Lara? I mean they could have just recast it with an actress in the 25-35 year range and carried on.

To be honest young Lara doesn;t really fascinate me, we saw some of young Lara in the first one.

I mean if all its going to be is Lara as a teen then she's gonna start as an annoying brat too cocky by half, then she'll make some sort of balls up in act 2, probably get her best mate killed. then along comes Rimmer, who starts training her up and rebuilding her shattered confidence, and the cockiness goes, she finds peace and redempton. Then the young Lara triumphs in the end, rescues the golden egg or whatever, defeats some british guy who turns out to have been her fathers best mate one of those "uncle" types and strolls off for more adventures.

Not that i'm saying that Hollywood is formulaic or predictable of course.... ;)

One of my favourites, top film. Thought the Arab policeman played an excellent role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Al Ghazi? Yeah he was pretty good actor wise, good character, was gutted when he copped it at the end, i was like what you can't kill Al Ghazi! Thought the Sgt was pretty sound as well, Haythem.

I do like Jamie Foxx, always seems to deliver and this was apretty good film, good supporting cast, good storyline, wasn't afrraid to pull any punches and didn't do the usual o look at us yanks aren't we the greatest. Ok it had its moments. But a film like this could have been the usual West is best, East is bad propaganda, instead it let you have some sort of insight into the Saudi culture, might make a few people think. And i loved the history lesson at the start.

why did they not make more tomb raider films. {Ed007's Note - The next film is due out in 2013 with the team of writers from Iron Man writing it. It has been suggested it will be set before the first film, possibly showing Lara 'learning her trade' so to speak. Olivia Wylde is said to be playing LC.}

Will there be a new James Bond film that will come out ? If so when is it released ?

Cheers in advance.

Brisc93 :) {Ed007's Note - The 23rd Bond called Skyfall started filming earlier this month and is due for release in October next year. The plot is supposedly someone from M's past turns up to 'haunt' her (not in the ghost way), which tests Bond's loyalty to her. Sam Mendes is directing it and Noel Gallagher is reported to be singing the theme song.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously Noel has had enough of the music business then. {Ed007's Note - LOL His latest album is pretty good.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't heard it yet Bond mate, but the Bond theme has been unlucky for more than one artist. Ok i know a few people have done it and gone on to be a success. But there have been a few established acts who have done it and struggled afterwards. Its like the curse of being the Bond girl. {Ed007's Note - I would agree with you there mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say i'm looking forwards to this one. Hope its more in the feel of Casino rather than Quantom. Is this part of a trilogy, does it follow on or relate to the other 2? {Ed007's Note - As far I know it has no connection to the other two.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes a change, everything seems to be trilogies these days. Did get the impression though that they hadn't finished with this Quantom organisation though. {Ed007's Note - It was Mendes who said it would have no connection and be a self contained story. Javier Bardem (Mr Penelope Cruz) has been cast as the villian, and some are speculating that Ernst Blofeld could be the face from the past who returns.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That could be interesting. Be good to see where exactly they go with Bond. I mean they could just remake everything but not sure its doable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumoured that Ralph Fiennes will play Blofeld and Naomi Harris as Moneypenny

Not sure about quotes but what about favorite scene from a film, for me its got to be the 'funny guy' scene in Goodfellas. Joe Pesci at his best.

Quiet on here.

So here's a tricky one, or should that be trekky one! (yes thank you, thank you, i am here all week!)

But what would be your ultimate Star Trek Crew, if we have any trekkers in that is.

Just pick your favourites from all 5 crews.

I'd go with:

Captain: hard choice, 2 out the running straight off bye bye sisko and Janeway, so straight scrap between Archer, Kirk and Picard. i'd go with Kirk just cos well its Kirk and however you tried to test them he'd go an cheat anyway lol)

Doctor: its a choice between Dr Bashir with his genetically enhanced intellect or Voyagers EMH which has all that programming. But i'm going to pull a Kirk and cheta and go with Bashir as the ship should have an EMH system anyway.

Chief Engineer: Are some hard choices again. But Mr Scott just takes it over Chief O'Brien, who sneaks on board anyway as even Scotty needs a right hand man.

Communications officer: Hoshi Sato from Enterprise tales it as the most skilled linguist.

Science officer: Hmm again tough. But i'm going to surprise you and say Data.

First Officer: Well has to be Spock doesn't it, someone needs to reign Kirk in and Riker aint got the cojones.

Helm/ Navigation: can you really split up the duo of Sulu and Chekov?

Tactical/ Security, only the one choice Mr Worf.

Captain: Kirk.
Doctor: Bashir.
Engineer: Scott.
Comms: Sato.
Science: Data.
First officer: Spock.
Helm: Sulu.
Navigation: Chekov.
Tactical: Worf.

Hmmm seems like i don't like Voyager. To be honest it was really tough their have been some great characters.

If you could remake any 1 film, and do it properly, how you want, no daft hollywood frills or whatever, just do it right in the spirit of the first film, thne what film would you go for and what would be your ideal cast? {Ed007's Note - Raging Bull. My favourite film of all time. I'd still do it in black and white as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok Bond cheers, but who would you have? De Niro and Pwsci is one of the great cinematic double acts of all times, the amount of films they've done together and they've all been good is quite amazing, i can't think of another guy double act like them. Tough acts to follow. {Ed007's Note - Damn! I thought I had got away without saying that lol I am stumped to be honest. It would need to be a slightly different story, so maybe use coloured actors??? Could Chris Rock be a Pesci type character??? Is that wild??? LOL You really do have me stumped.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Bond you need to be up earlier than that, or maybe one less Martini or Vespa at night.

Yeah you would probably need to update the story perhaps and bring into a more modern era. After all, unless your a serious boxing fan, or a de Niro fan and have seen Raging Bull most people don;t know who Jake La Motta is.

For example i was watching pointless earlier, don't know if anyone watches it. Any the category was biopic movies, they gave you the film title and the contestant ahd to say who the film was about, like Ray - Ray Charles. The Aviator - Howrad Hughes and so on. Anyway some geezer went for Raging Bull and the chump said Rocky Marciano. I was half expecting him to say Rocky Balboa.

Anyway back to the question. I think maybe a biopic of Tyson wouldn;t be too bad, its quite recent, he was a bloody good fighter at first, and he was deeply flawed, did time as well so could be decent. Not sure who would play him, but Vhris Rock could be a good shout for the Pesci role. {Ed007's Note - I never miss Pointless. Great quiz show.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed ed, i only usually catch the end of the head to head as i'm late finishing work but had this week off. Did you see the chump, i was wetting myself, Rocky Marciano. {Ed007's Note - He was so sure he was right though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Would the guy who was in the a team last year be any good as Tyson? {Ed007's Note - Quinton Jackson, could do. 50 Cent?? You wouldn't need to be a good actor to play Tyson would you? There was a terrible TV movie/biopic made by HBO(??) years ago, that was awful.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally i don't like 50p i think he's too in love with himself. But Quinton Jackson, yeah i think he'd do a job, i thought he was alright in the A team, i enjoyed the film and thats what i pay my money for to be entertained. He seemed quite competant with what he had to do and as an ex footballer (am i right?) then he should be right at home doing gym scenes and the boxing shouldn't be too hard. After all Will Smith pulled off a very good Ali and he wasn't considered a serious actor at the time more just a comedy goofball. So Jackson as Tyson would be workable. Throw Chris Rock in as his mate, the onyl one who sticks by him when he's getting leached by Don King and i think we have a the makings of a movie, throw in some jail time, and then the big comeback. Could work Bond, i suggest we get writing, 50-50 on the money yeah? {Ed007's Note - Quinton 'Rampage Jackson is in MMA/UFC stuff, he would have no problem with that side of things. I agree about your take on films, The A Team wasn't the best film ever, but it was what I call 'good 5hite'. It's entertaining and plus it was a bit of nostalgia for us that grew up loving the TV show.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah yeah that was it MMA/UFC stuff, he should be very comfortable with boxing then lol. Knew he was a pro sportsman of some kind.

At the end of the day the A team was always going to make money cos of all us 80's kids that went to see it. I went to see it with 2 mates both a couple of years younger and one of the lads younger brother and all 4 of us enjoyed it. No its not going to trouble the oscars, but it had action by the bucket load, plenty of comedy, i thought all 4 of the leads for the A team did a good job and none of their predecessors would have been ashamed and we had a hot chick for Face as well. All in all considering spending the best part of a tenner i have to say i had my money's worth and theirs only been a few films i've been able to say that about in the last decade or so. Problem is their is too much snobbery in films, all this you have to have a message and preach to people. I agree worthy films have to be made, but not every film has to be worthy. Its primarily a medium for entertainment and thats what i want for my money.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would remake Twilight and make it good, or at least average.

Ted

Agree1 Disagree0

Ah Ted.... Twilight, god they look a shambles just on the trailers don't they.

What has happened to the Vampire genre? Once a staple of horror, look at the classics, Nosferatu, Chris Lee, and then we have that Rice woman making a nasty killing machine into namby pambies with that Tom Cruise horror show and then comes along an even worse fool and totally demasculates vampires. From noble yet savage horrors to teen girly crush, about as dangerous as wet lettuce. Can you really imagine an undead killer thats lived for centuries pining after some annoying high school yank teen.

All copies should be burned and the whole experience wiped from peoples memories. Now a whole generation will grow up thinking vampires are softies rather than what used to be a good chilling film. Used like putting on a scary vampire film on a date in night.

liked the list GAGUS a few classics in there .... cnt believe i havent seen the beast of ALL films on the list ... I aint saying this is my fave film (that will always belong to Aliens) but T2 judgement day ? i mean really its gotta be the best film of all time when u think of the the range of genres it covers and to this day still doenst look outta place. lol that or bloodsport ! haha

on another note are we all enjoying the walking dead ?

Germinator {Ed001's Note - seriously? T2? It was awful, terrible story covered in flashy effects to distract the mind from the fact it was such a poor film. The original Terminator was massively superior.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol i loved T2 ed ? maybe it was just my age but seemed to fit the bill perfectly for me. terminator was a better plot ill give you that but T2 blew me away again i was young wen it was out. Plus im a huge GnR nut ! Terminator as a phyco thriller, T2 was action and was very relevent to the time in which it as made. (just dont diss Alien or Aliens tho or ill grab my tracker and hunt u down !)

Germinator {Ed001's Note - I just find every film he does the same, shallow, crap plot and full of flashy effects. Plus that kid in T2 is an awful actor, that really is the clincher for me. Still it is a far better film than Salvation, which was dreadful, so disappointing. As for the Alien films, I love those 2, fantastic movies in my opinion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol so Aliens doesnt fall into the Cameron category for you then lol .... na i do know what u mean he is very stuck in his ways as a director .... the blue ambience thing seems to either draw people in or they see it as a cheap way of creating mood. Im in the draw people in category tho i tend to like the majority of his films if im honest .... and he is in no way as bad as Mr Bay with his bang bang smash theory ...... or Mr Knights "swallow some LSD" for a twist cos i end a film right !

Germinator

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't mind T3 prefer it to T4. T2 is good at what it does, but T1 is better.

Same with Alien and Aliens, but the last 2 are fairly dodgy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get to the choppa

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree there T4 was shambolic, one of the most disappointing films ive ever seen, its a shame these days that film companies will insist on a 12A to make more money but i think this also can drasticly lower a films quality, T4 is the perfect example...in a war against the machines only about 2 people die, its totally rediculous

KB

Agree0 Disagree0

True KB, especially as we finally got some extended action in the future, you'd have expected a blood bath. Also as much as i like Christian Bale as an actor i thought he was the wrong choice. And all the other plot with the terminator who thought he was human, just poor.

Things that only happen in movies:

When paying for a taxi, do not look at your wallet as you take out a note. Just grab one out at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare.

Creepy music (or satanic chanting) coming from a graveyard should always be closely investigated.

All bombs are fitted with electronic timing devices with large red digital displays so you know exactly when they are going to explode.

Protaganist can always find inspiration/motivation for the big challenge from dead best friends or dead family members.

Single parents usually lose their spouse to cancer (and they're still not over it).

James Bond never gets an STI.

Dogs and children know immediately that someone is the bad guy.

Good guys never get shot in the face and no matter how grievously injured, always live long enough to say a few words.

No matter how pointless to the plot, the male and female leads will have to have a bedroom scene.

All gratings covering the entry to a ventilation system will come off with only a tug (no screws), and the shaft is always horizontal and big enough for adults to crawl through.

Any group of pathetically inept losers with a boozy but lovable old coach will eventually win the sports championship.

No one ever forgets a telephone number, even if it was only communicated in the middle of a gunfight or car chase.

At least one scientist is from an oriental background.

People hack into computers by incessantly typing on the keyboard. Even though they don't appear to be working in DOS mode, they never use the mouse.

Sadistic killers are also witty stand-up comedians specialising in one-liners.

Bombs are always defused within the last three seconds, never at twelve or twenty seven.

A 'hunch' is always correct.

When someone steals a car, the drivers seat is always in the correct position.

Any fight at a wedding reception will always result in someone crashing into the wedding cake.

There is always a gun in reach when you fall onto the ground.

When the hero is running and the bad guys are shooting at him with a machine gun, the bullets will consistently hit the ground just behind his feet. This is because it's impossible to swivel a machine gun as quickly as the hero is running.

In car chases the hero car just avoids the woman pushing the pram across the road. Then it crashes through lots of market stalls (usually fruit and vegetable stalls), destroying the livelihoods of perfectly innocent hard-working people but never actually killing any of them.

A scrapbook, containing all the villain's crimes and killings, is always stumbled across by the hero, typically under a bare lightbulb in the killer's basement.

When the lead detective has a meeting with his team, it is always productive and completed in seconds or minutes. Every one contributes vital pieces of information and the conversation flows flawlessly with everyone possessing super intelligence and quick thinking abilities.

Passengers always exit the taxicab and then pay the driver through his window.

Just as the hero and villains fight ends, with the hero winning, about a dozen police cars show up.

When about to have sex, clothes melt seamlessly off bodies. No one ever needs to sit down and take off shoes and socks.

Whenever anyone receives a phone call in the middle of the night, it's always 2, 3 or 4am. Exactly.

The Eiffel Tower can be seen from any window of any building in Paris.

Getaway cars never start first time. But all cop cars do. (They will also slide to a dramatic stop in the midst of a crime scene).

If staying in a haunted house, women should investigate any strange noises wearing their most revealing underwear.

On a police stake-out, the action will only ever take place when food is being consumed and scalding hot coffees are perched precariously on the dashboard.

All grocery shopping involves the purchase of French loaves which will be placed in open brown paper bags.

Cars never need fuel (unless they are involved in a pursuit).

If a microphone is turned on it will immediately feedback.

Cars will explode instantly when struck by a single bullet.

If being chased through a city you can usually take cover in a passing parade.

The ventilation system of any building is the perfect hiding place. Nobody will ever think of looking for you in there and you can travel to any other part of the building undetected.

Prostitutes always look like Julia Roberts or Jamie Lee Curtis. They have expensive clothes and nice apartments but no pimps. They are friendly with the shopkeepers in their neighbourhood who do not mind at all what the girl does for a living.

A single match is usually sufficient to light up a room the size of a football stadium.

One man shooting at 20 men has a better chance of killing them all than 20 men firing at once.

When you turn out the light to go to bed, everything in you room will still be visible, just slightly bluish.

Plain or even ugly girls can become movie star pretty simply by removing their glasses and rearranging their hair.

Rather than wasting bullets, megalomaniacs prefer to kill their enemies with complicated devices incorporating fuses, pulleys, deadly gases, lasers and man-eating sharks.

All beds have special L-shaped sheets that reach to armpit level on a woman but only up to the waist of the man lying beside her.

Anyone can land a 747 as long as there is someone in the control tower to talk you down.

During all police investigations it will be necessary to visit a strip club at least once.

In all martial art movies the hero can beat up 30 ninjas and martial art masters in 5 minutes. But if he smart mouths to his 100 year old grandma, she has the speed to slap him.

Feeling Inspired!

Question: What movie quotes/speeches stop and make you think or make you feel driven to be more than you are?

For example I love the quote from Coach Carter where Timo Cruz verses of in response to the question What is your deepest fear sir?

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Are there any European films out there in the mold of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Also any writers like Hunter S. Thompson. I don't know of any Drug related films from over there aside from the more serious one like TrainSpotting. Doing a Thesis on countercultures around the world and any suggestions would be appreciated {Ed007's Note - Look for a film called Twin Town (very funny), Human Traffic (watchable) and 24 hour Party People (great soundtrack). I know it is American but have you seen The Basketball Diaries? It is Di Caprio but is a very dark autobiographical film on American Jim Carroll and how heroin ruined his life and chance of becoming a basketball star.}

Agree1 Disagree0

I keep getting reccommneded Twin Town. {Ed007's Note - It is well worth watching, it is set in Wales but is very funny mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Something to do with glue sniffing isn't it? I can't reallty think of anything else for the original poster. maybe try going to a film website and typing in serach terms maybe? I think you can do that on imdb.com?

Agree0 Disagree0

Basketball Diaries, is very deep, very good early Di Caprio and is one of my Favourite films.

Agree0 Disagree0

Try Naked Lunch, based on the William Burroughs book starring Peter Weller (Robocop), a writer's descent into absolute madness (and not just through the drugs he was ingesting either). Been a LONG time since i saw it but it would go with Fear and Loathing as a great double bill. IIRC it shares a lot of the same themes. Kudos to whoever offered Twin Town, it's an awesome little film and things get truly messed up in it. You could check out Magic Trip as well, a documentary about Ken Kesey, who was good mates with Timothy Leary and travelled around in a bus with his bunch of merry acid-heads. Between Leary and Kesey, they pretty much were the fathers of 1960's American counter-culture and were massive advocates of hallucinogenics. It's worth a watch.

brabs

Agree0 Disagree0

Must disagree Ed. Human Traffic is muck. Thought it was the s**t when i was 14 watched few monthes ago and gagged. Turned it off halfway, twas shockin

Dar88 {Ed007's Note - I have only seen it once and watched it right through, it was nothing special but I thought it would be watchable for what the guy was looking for. To the OP as well, you should look out for a film called Once Were Warriors, it is a hard hitting New Zealand film from 94/95 about a Maori family living in poverty. It stars Temuera Morrison, who played Boba Fett's father Jango in Star Wars Episodes 2 & 3. Not much drug related but eye opening regarding other countercultures. If you want to try to understand football hooliganism, watch The Football Factory, Green Street (iffy) and try to get a copy of The Firm (get the original BBC play version starring Gary Oldman), the remake is a bit cheesy but funny to see the clothes they wear. I assume you have seen Quadrophenia??}

Agree0 Disagree0

Green Street was alright Ed, was mildly entertaining but thought Elijah Wood was a bit of an odd choice, his sister pissed me off, and the fact that the Zulu's sounded nothing like Brummies at all. Other than that i did enjoy it.

Temuera Morrison is agood actor and should get more good roles, would have thought Star Wars might have kicked him up the league a little bit. Wasn't he in Shortland Street, the really dodgy NZ hospital soap? {Ed007's Note - He played Dr. Hone Ropata in it from 1992-95. You are sad even knowing that :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I maybe sad Mr Bond, but you must be sad as well as you knew the characters name, or was it a google job? I just knew he was one of the docs. I just watched it for the nurses as it was on tv after school but before dinner. {Ed007's Note - I knew because I was reading about him earlier, I was checking to see how to spell his first name. That is my story and I'm sticking by it :-)

anyone else think that american pie went on about twenty films too far? What is it with yanks and taking one joke and dragging it for so far {Ed033's Note - As long as they keep making money from it they'll keep going with it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess you reckon the Brits and their Mr. Bean comedies were cinematic brilliance.(just kidding cant stand the Pie movies or Theme Movie comedeys either)

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Ed thats the only reason they make them.

Other guy. No the Mr Bean films were awful, it just about worked as a tv show, there were some good bits in the tv shows. I'm not sure who did the turkey on the head sketch first, Bean or Friends but i found the Bean one more funny probably as i'd seen it first.

The thing with British comedy is a lot of it is very subtle, you need to have lived in the culture to have appreciated it i think. Whereas the American stuff tends to be more direct and in your face. I think comedy does showoff both cultures attributes very well.

The first Pie was alright, not as good as Road Trip or going back further Porkies. But agreed a lot of these filmsover the last decade have been awful. What has happened to good comedy films?

Agree0 Disagree0

Check out the red band trailer for American Reunion. It's a nice little twist on the opening scene from the first American Pie. Very funny.

quick question on blu rays. Whats everyone's age range on buying blu rays? For example i wouldn't buy anything on blu ray that dates before the matrix or the phantom menace. But a mate buys almost anything on blu ray like highlander. What does everyone else do. {Ed001's Note - personally I buy anything I want to see on blu ray if I can.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If you aren't buying anything that pre-dates The Phantom Menace or The Matrix then you, sir, are truly missing out on some GREAT films.

brabs

Agree0 Disagree0

I do own a lot of films on just standard dvd, many classics. Its just that i was using the phantom menace and the matrix as a technical cut off point as both happen to be very special effects and cg driven.

I wouldn't go and buy anything from the 60's or 70'd on blu ray especially at some of the prices involved. I'd rather just get stuff from the last deacde or so and then only if its something thats effetcs heavy, i wouldn't pick up a talky film for example on blu ray.

As i aid i know a mate who just gets his favourite films on blu ray and picked up highlander. i personally probably wouldn't do that.

I was just wondering what everyone else did, and what their argument would be for buying older films, specifically 80's/90's on blu ray.

Thanks.

Sorry if this comes up twice, the website wobbled as i posted and had to retype quickly trying to remember all i'd typed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I stopped buying DVD's around two years ago, I got fed up of buying films that didn't quite cut it, or films that I knew I would never watch again. I probably bought around 15 a year and outta that about a third I might watch again.

I now wait for them to come on Sky HD instead (sorry Ed001), and their Box Office is cheaper than buying it too and more convientent than renting.

If there is a film I really know I will like and want to watch I'll pop down the cinema.

I will admit though there is something about going out and buying a DVD/Blueray and sitting down and watching it, a bit like the popping of a cork on a bottle of wine rather than a screw top.

If I was going to buy an old classic film on Bluray I'd make sure that it had been remastered in some way so as to get the full high def effect.

dmedly {Ed001's Note - I don't miss Sky, it is just the same thing over and over and over and over again. I find a rental package, such as LoveFilm's, a much better use of my money, especially as none of it is going into those scummy Murdoch's pockets! But it especially works if you have a smart TV like mine, I can stream films directly onto it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I used to buy a lot of dvd's but i stopped buying partly because blu ray came out and initially they were so expensive and the economy went pear shaped and all the bills went sky high. So now i just rent blu rays from lovefilm, so that way i get to see all the latest films.

Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Where to start with this? First off you got Die Hard 4.0 on this list over the original? Hands down the greatest action film ever made? Forms part of the Holy Trinity along with Aliens and Predator (ok I'll give you that one)? XXX? Please. Pitch Black kicks its ass. US Marshals? The Fugitive is miles better. Lethal Weapon 4? Give me the first one any day of the week. Bourne Ultimatum is by far the weakest of the trilogy, The Rock's ok but Bad Boys is better, The Expendables are definitely expendable, T2, The Matrix, Dark Knight, Inception and Rambo, yeah, probably deserving a place on the list. Oh and no Seagal love here? Not even Under Siege?

Yes ed007 , but these two were not released on video until 1980 ..............lfc {Ed007's Note - Does that mean ET is a 1988 film then? When was the Wizard of Oz from then if you are going with video releases?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the remake of the wizard of oz or the orginal, lol , its only films ed007 , think ill go on the rant page maybe movies are not my thing.............lfc {Ed007's Note - I'm winding you up ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Good god ed007 i am turning into sydney , ill have to stay off the utd page , or watch some good comdey movies or something , the rant page is making me take it too seriously lol...........lfc {Ed007's Note - The Wanderers was a fantastic movie. Never got that into Porkys, I preferred The Wanderers during my adolescence. And the soundtrack is amazing, I got my taste of music from my dad so love 60's stuff.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Argee classic music from them films ed007, but streets of fire is the best i think , some great songs on it , infact the music is better than the film , in saying that the film isnt too bad , you should check it out if you hant seen it mate............lfc {Ed007's Note - I will need to try to catch it, I don't think I have seen it mate.}

Still no sign of a 911 truth movie, who will have the balls to make it?
Oliver Stone might or maybe steven soderbergh.Theirs plenty of good
?truther? actors about , has anyone heard anything ?

jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Oliver Stone already made one. It's called World Trade Center. Nicolas Cage is in it. It's alright. There's also one called Flight 93 (I think) about the plane that the passengers brought down. Haven't seen that though. Can't quite bring myself to watch it seeing as we all know how it ends. If you want truth though you might wanna check out a documentary called 9/11. Made by two French brothers who were shadowing a division of FDNY and went to WTC with the firemen when the first calls came in and ended up getting trapped in there when the towers were coming down. It's quite harrowing but absolutely superb and a miracle they both got out alive.

Anybody seen The Prestige? Possibly the best film i've ever seen. Have to say I absolutely loved From Hell as well, Johnny Depp is simply magnificent. The best actor around at the minut if you ask me. Loved the twists in both films!
KiwiRed

{Ed033's Note - apparently Johnny Depp nearly lost his acting career because he starred in From Hell. This was because From Hell was a little too close to the truth, allegedly.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, didn't realise he nearly lost his acting career because of it, but I did know that the storyline was very close to actual events. The royal family being responsible, I do a lot of reading on conspiracies because I have a lot of spare time on my hands now my Football season has finished. Oh how I pine for March when it starts again.
KiwiRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, end twists in the prestige is the best in any movies,

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely forgot about the prestige without doubt my favourite christopher nolan film. Dark knight close second

Agree0 Disagree0

Which part Ed the murders or physic stuff... {Ed001's Note - the murders allegedly. Obviously no one knows for definite, it could easily have been a story put round by the studio to sell the film.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, i was pleasantly suprised by The prestige,
especially as its only a 12 rating. Christian Bale
was very good, one of those films that just went under most peoples radar unfortunately .
Ed where did you hear the from hell rumour, it seems a tad ott,no offense .

JR {Ed001's Note - it was around at the time, like I said, the most likely thing is that the studio started it in order to get the conspiracy theorists into the cinema.}

Prestige is great. From Hell was good as well, figured out who it was fairly early on, but was good to see all the shenanigans. Mort.

i would definitely watch soon because this type of comedy is my favourite {Ed001's Note - Airplane was the first spoof I ever saw and it is still the best in my opinion.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Best spoof has to be SPINAL TAP , funny anyway , but even funnier if you know a bit
about the heavy-rock scene in that period.
Life of Brian and Team America should also get a nod.

JR {Ed001's Note - I never found Spinal Tap all that funny myself, but then I have never been into rock at all. I guess that I must have just missed the jokes. Team America I thought was complete cack, total and utter rubbish from start to finish. Is Life of Brian really a spoof?}

A lot of good films mentioned here.

However we all have our guilty pleasures! Lets grit our teeth and list the top 5 films you shouldn't like but really do!

1. Flash Gordon
2. Con Air
3. Dirty Dancing (Im a boy)
4. Road House
5. Major League

Bluegenius {Ed001's Note - what's wrong with Road House? It was a classic, the only thing that let it down was Swayze, he just didn't fit the role at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Roadhouse Ed? Hang your head in shame for that......that is seriously wrong for a man to like that film!! It was like an episode of the A-Team with a bit of ballet dancing fighting! Sad seat for that one mate. If you are female I do apologise, I don't mean to be sexist..but Roadhouse??? {Ed001's Note - I liked it, it was let down by Swayze, but the film itself wasn't bad, certainly better than the sequel, that was truly dire.}

Agree0 Disagree0

1. Over the top
2. Madagascar
3. Blood and chocolate
4. Strength and honour (vinnie jones an micheal madsen)
5. Twiilght sage (all of them)

An road house was a great film!

Johny89 {Ed001's Note - having seen your list of favourite films, I am not sure I want your agreement on the Road House issue! Twilight? Seriously? I couldn't manage to sit through the whole film of any of those, they are embarrassingly bad I thought. In fact the only one of your top 5 I would watch is Madagascar, I did quite like that. But what do you enjoy about the Twilight saga? Am I just too old to get them or something?}

Agree0 Disagree0

That was my guilty list not my favourites! I dnt like any twilight films but if I go to to cinema with my other half to watch a twilight movie I find myself really getting into them! Haha I no how bad dat makes me look haha oh well

Johny89 {Ed001's Note - ohhh! Sorry, I didn't look to see which thread you were replying to, my fault. In that case you should feel very guilty!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I no ed its sad but the original post asked for our worst guilty films haha

Johny89

Agree0 Disagree0

I have only one guilty pleasure - white chicks! {Ed001's Note - I have to put forward the Transformers movies, especially the original cartoon one. I grew up with Transformers and still love them now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed Transformers 86 is brilliant, i had the place to myself the other day so went got a pizza and popped it on. The soundtrack is great and is a regular on my winamp. Not a guilty pleaseure at all.

O and Flash is brilliant as well.

Mort {Ed001's Note - I have two copies on dvd, in case one wears out! It was in Poundland so I just had to.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I feel Roadhouse is a guilty pleasure as I've been a bouncer for 14 years and no-one goes around taking on the local gang etc. Its too absurd, poorly acted and Swayze as a bouncer. Still love it though!

Bluegenius! {Ed001's Note - they should do a remake with a proper action star as the bouncer, the old guy could be played by someone like Dolph (just to keep in the spirit of poor acting!).}

Where Eagles Dare

Tuely superb but I would like to see a really good remake with more believability etc any ideas who you would cast?

One great film JAWS so good could never be remade ROBERT SHAW classic actor {Ed001's Note - it really depends on which way you want to go with a film like 'Where Eagles Dare'. It could be a buddy movie, so go with the kind of cast the Oceans films used or an out and out action film and go with a cast along the lines of the Expendables.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah gritty and realistic ed.

What about Daniel Craig(LFC fan too). Ed Norton as Yank? {Ed001's Note - it has been so long so I last saw that film that I can't remember any characters from it. I remember the book more than the film.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm actually writing a Jaws remake starring Will Smith and Johnny Depp, struggling to think of a 3rd actor though.

As for WED, well Burton and Eastwood were both big drawers in their day, who could do it now? Ed Norton seriously? Gets nowhere near Clint in his prime. I guess any remake would see the Burton/ Eastwood roles reversed with the yank in charge and the Brit relegated to sidekick. Danny Craig is a good shout, so is Jason Statham. But a yank i'm struggling. Someone like Matt damon mayne? Was good in the Bournes.

Mort.

Agree0 Disagree0

A re-make of The longest day would be good to cast, me and a friend spoke about this awhile back, with the long list of characters from all over the world ,you could go on all day.
Any suggestions ?
