Can anyone here convince me to watch Lord of the Rings?

{Ed001's Note - not me, I don't like them.}

Watched an hour of it and honestly the thought of prison was quite tempting.

{Ed008's Note - Loved the trilogy films, Two Towers was my favourite out of the three.

Yep got to agree with Ed008, the whole trilogy was top notch.

Like all sagas the first is an introductory story and not a lot actually happens for the first half of the film. Then the second half of the fellowship and the two towrrs are brilliant. Great visuals story and action all at a good pace. then the third is a bit ott but a good conclusion to the story. overall a bit over rated as individual films but as a trilogy it is hard to beat.
Worth a watch but you are going to need a lot of popcorn to get through em all

I watched that 'Ride Along' the other day. Not the worst film in the world, but not particularly good either. Worth a go if you have nothing to do, but not worth paying money to see.

Anyone got any recommendations of a good film to watch? I watched Non Stop the other day, wasn't bad though far from great. Liam Neeson doing what he seems to be fast becoming the king of these days. But it is more Taken 2 than the original. It was a really interesting idea but just didn't quite work in practice. {Ed002's Note -I watched "The Zero Theorem", which is an interesting work, on a plane the other day. One of my wives mentioned watching "Under The Skin" and saying it was pretty intense. The BFI has been rekindling a lot of 40 year old films - but I suspect the interest from here in those types of films will be minimal. However, well worth checking out what they have. Absolutely don't bother investing in a copy of the Mexican version of "Top Cat" in 3D - it is not worth watching at all.}

I wish I had read this before I bought the Mexican version of Top Cat in 3d!
