Just seen they are finally making an assassins creed film,from what I've read the plot line is not related to any of the games

{Ed007's Note - I love the games so I'll be interested in seeing the film.}

20 Oct 2015 20:41:34
Check it out Jeremy irons is listed in the cast

{Ed007's Note - I'll keep an eye out for that, cheers.}

30 Oct 2015 19:44:45
I have never really been a fan of the games myself, but they might work better as a film, as it is the gameplay that let's them down as games.

Looking forward to spectre. Like to see Craig go out on a high.

One thing though what happened to the quantum organisation.

{Ed001's Note - is that the new Bond film? Not a big fan of Bond to be honest, though he has been by far and away the best of them all.}

19 Oct 2015 21:50:38
Looks good from the trailer. I'm awaiting my phone call to take over

{Ed001's Note - sadly Ed025 has already got the nod ahead of you mate.}

20 Oct 2015 10:02:01
I hated bond till Daniel Craig's one. They saw what happened with Bourne and wanted a piece of that market,and it improved the series greatly. No longer will we have to witness ''judo chops'' to the back of the neck knock a guy unconscious.
BTW

20 Oct 2015 10:03:11
I think the spectre organisation is meant to be the amalgamation of every organisation craigs bond has taken on.

20 Oct 2015 13:34:28
There vey much an artifact of there time. And usually set up to each actors strengths.

{Ed007's Note - SPECTRE is the name used in the films for the SMERSH group - a global terririst organisation - in the original Ian Fleming books. SMERSH is short for the Russian SMERt' SHpionam which means Death to Spies.}

20 Oct 2015 15:07:58
007 with the knowledge bomb^^^^

{Ed007's Note - I've been a BIG Jimmy Bond fan for as long as I can remember, as a wee pup I was mesmerised by them. The only guaranteed quiet time in our house during school holidays was when there was a Jimmy Bond movie on the TV.}

The least anticipated sequel since Sharknado 2, Marvel's Ant-Man has been confirmed as having a sequel in the pipeline. Oh yay, we are so blessed. I can barely contain my enthusiasm.

10 Oct 2015 21:04:51
Haha, I take its a bad film then ed? Not had the chance to watch it yet!

{Ed001's Note - it's not up to much at all. I wouldn't bother unless you really have nothing else to do.}

13 Oct 2015 15:03:11
Marvel just milked the cash cow with it. With(spoiler alert)Cap dying in civil war and the move into new avengers I think they wanted to introduce more characters. I can't remember how many more films are planned,black Panther too I think and dr strange?

Were you not even impressed with how Paul Rudd got into shape for the film? :)

I think we discussed a while back it wouldn't be worth going to the cinema for ed001.

What did you think of the female lead characted (michael douglases daughter) I thought it was terrible script and wooden acting )

{Ed001's Note - Paul Rudd was a bizarre choice, he just doesn't have any acting ability at all, every role is exactly the same. It never felt like he had got in shape, when there were bits that needed physicality, it felt like it was camera trickery.

As for the female lead, she was one of the worst it must be said. You are spot on about her being wooden, though I am sure we will get a few trees complaining about the comparison!}

15 Oct 2015 22:02:31
I think their expanding the universe too much and some of the characters aren't well known. I grew up with marvel comics and I couldn't remember ant man so the casual movie fan isn't going to have a clue or care.

They should really stick with the core roster of the cap, Thor, iron man, hulk and find a way to get spidey in there. There's ways around the caps death especially given the amount of genius scientists and engineers on the roster.

{Ed001's Note - I agree, if they want to expand the universe, give them a part or cameo in one of the major characters films first.}

16 Oct 2015 08:06:18
Like they did with black widow. And the dude with the bow. Then gauge fans reaction and go with a solo film.

{Ed001's Note - exactly. Hawkeye is the dude with the bow by the way.}

16 Oct 2015 10:01:39
Well it looks like they just bought back the rights to fantastic 4 after (fox?) churned out it's 4th terrible film of the franchise. So we might add another team into the mix along with,original avengers,new avengers and guardians of the galaxy.Thanos must be really powerful if it's going to take all these to stop him!!!

{Ed001's Note - Fantastic 4 were part of the Avengers in the comics anyway, weren't they? I am wondering if we will ever get the Avengers v X Men films.}

16 Oct 2015 10:20:09
Yeah they were ED,but Marvel sold the rights to fox in the 80's on the basis that they made a film at least every 10 years or the franchise was surrendered back to marvel,hence the horrid stright to vhs movie of 95?(year may be wrong) the 2 early 00's fantastic 4 films with euowin gruffid(spelling) and then the recent abomination where they cut out the main battlescene to get it out in time.

I think Marvel finally stumped up the cash (reported)£200 million and bought the franchise back. So i'd expect another fantastic 4 release soon possibly before infity wars.

Xmen vs avengers would create nerdgasms around the world. Hugh Jackman is hanging up his claws though. So we wouldn't get to see him as wolverine.

{Ed001's Note - glad to hear that as he was an awful Wolverine in my opinion, he just didn't work for me. He just comes across about as tough as a wet paper bag. That needed someone with real bulk and speed, someone who could do the fight scenes properly.}

16 Oct 2015 13:12:45
That's it Hawkeye. Brain went blank.

I agree with hugh Jackman. It annoyed me how every x men film had to either revolve around him or have a cameo like in first class. He didn't seem bad ass enough. Swiping Scotts ride and flipping him off with the claws ain't tough.

16 Oct 2015 14:12:15
Who'd you guys bring in to replace him as Wolverine?

{Ed001's Note - good question and that is a tough one. Maybe someone like Tom Hardy, he has the bulk and the presence.}

16 Oct 2015 21:07:38
Ed2. Tough and scary

{Ed001's Note - I would love to see that.}

16 Oct 2015 21:48:59
Think hardy is a good shout. Who ed ed7 be?

{Ed007's Note - ?

17 Oct 2015 10:18:36
Which x man would you be bond?

{Ed007's Note - Well I suppose that seeing as I have a mangled leg I'd need to be the dude in the wheelchair! :)

19 Oct 2015 21:12:24
Had you more down as gambit.

{Ed007's Note - I'll take that :) Even though I had to Google who he was.}

20 Oct 2015 16:58:44
Very underused character

{Ed007's Note - I've seen a couple of the films and hadn't heard of him.}

22 Oct 2015 00:44:52
Was only in the wolverine origins one. And not for long.

{Ed007's Note - You're either trying to confuse me or my wife's put you up to pressuring me to sit and watch the films!}

22 Oct 2015 18:23:05
Not all. I'm actually on retainer to promote certain films.

{Ed007's Note - Really? That must be a pretty cool job.}

23 Oct 2015 17:13:33
I wish.

{Ed007's Note - What does your job entail if you don't mind me asking.}

25 Oct 2015 22:40:16
I was joking bond mate.

{Ed007's Note - Ah ya (swear) bam!!!! I had no reason to doubt you though mate, we get all sorts of people posting on the sites.}

06 Nov 2015 21:49:27
Would be a cool job though

{Ed007's Note - Definitely, nobody I know ever ended up with a job like that but they must be out there.}

I watched a few films on the flights I was on, only one was worth watching, and that was the one I was least interested in watching! Oh actually I take that back, as I never got to see all of Kingsman: Secret Service due to the flight landing.

Paul Blart 2 made the first one seem like a genuinely hilarious film. I never even saw the end, it was so bad I kept missing bits falling asleep.

Jurassic World was just pathetic. Really lame. Little more than a bad kid's film. I really regret watching it.

Ant-Man is the worst of the recent Marvel films, a real disappointment. Just didn't work.

The Forger I had to turn off after about 20 minutes out of sheer boredom. It did help me to fall asleep though! Utter dross. Travolta is just not an actor of any quality.

Man Up was quite good, not brilliant but a decent date night movie, which just stayed clear of being sickeningly sweet due to the female lead being full of character. Quite nice to see a woman who wasn't just there to look hot, as she never did that at any time, but she was a real personality which made the film watchable. It was very much driven by her rather than Pegg.

Last Knights I have seen before and just had on in the background. Good film though. Enjoyable but not outstanding.

Blackhat I saw just before leaving and quite enjoyed it but it lacked something to make it really good. Good idea, but just never truly took off.

Kingsman The Secret Service was ok but it was difficult to watch on an Emirates flight. Because they edit out certain words, mostly to remove the f word, they had bits of the films dubbed. The dubbed in bits were in a completely different voice from the original, which was hilarious, but totally ruined the film as a film, due to me just listening for the bad dubbing as it had me in stitches at times. Shame though, as it badly took away from the film itself, which was promising.

11 Oct 2015 22:24:50
How long was the flight? How many films?

{Ed001's Note - flights plural mate, plus I always pick a seat where you get on early and get off last, so I can watch more. The only chance I really get to relax and watch a film.}

13 Oct 2015 14:57:37
Ed quick trick.I may have posted this some where else.I flew economy to Dubai,and Australia,I never picked my seat. The flight usually has several seats in each are dedicated for disabled passengers which aren't actually on that manifesto you chose from.Usually there 7 or so disabled people on the flight. So you automatically get issued one of them if every other seat is taken. It's worked 3 of 4 times for me.I was one of the first on and the legroom is amazing not only that but the tv was one that came out from the side,instead of being in some 1 elses chair. Another advantage is you're near the food area and drinks are at the forward part of your section so get to constantly ask for more food and drink,and don't have to squeeze past people for the toilet. Might be worth a try next time.

{Ed001's Note - I never have to worry about the food and drink mate, I fly over night and the flights are pretty much empty, so the stewardesses have plenty of time to give out extra food and drinks. You just have to know how to smile sweetly and be friendly and you end up with them stopping to chat to you and giving you extra bits each time. Last flight I had four seats to myself and was just sprawled across. The disabled seats at the front you usually can't raise the arm rests on all so can't get as comfy.}

15 Oct 2015 22:17:56
The only one of those I want to see is kingsman

06 Oct 2015 16:29:13
Just watched the Visit. The new M Night Syamalan film. I thought it was very poor. Anyone else seen it? I also went to the cinema for it and it was a toss up between that and Legend. Anyone watched that one yet?

11 Oct 2015 22:25:49
He's been poor for most of the decade. Living on his reputation from his earlier films. Which aren't all that good either.
