Bright

The LA was a different LA. Humans seem like the middle class citizens, elves the higher class, and orcs were the gangsters. It's a buddy cop movie; a human was partnered by an orc, and being the first orc cop, most of the others didn't accept it well.

I would say it was a typical buddy cop movie, but with a totally different setup.

Before I watch this, I read most of the reviews in Rottentomatoes. Most of them rated it as rotten. It wasn't perfect, especially the end plot was so predictable, but I like this film. It could be because I'm a huge fan of Will Smith. So, I would definitely rate this as "Fresh".

This is my third Netflix films I have watched. Seem they are actually producing some really good films here.

Haizan, Do you think it would have worked better as a series instead of a movie? taken time to explain how the elves became the higher class, why the orcs are so hated? and a bit about will smiths characters background? all stuff that is to much for a movie but could benefit from 6/7 hour long episodes maybe? that's the feeling i got from it felt a bit rushed, decent enough idea just poorly executed.

Yeah J10, I agree with you. Never thought about that, and yes it would be better than just pack everything in a 2 hours plus run.

However, I would doubt they were ever considering this. With the ensemble casts, making it as a Netflix series or a trilogy Netflix films would be too costly.

{Ed001's Note - it was always planned to be a series of movies, maybe they are planning to explore how it happened in later movies?}

Then Ed1, I'm sold! I really like this film.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen it yet, I will have to try and get to see it.}

i have heard they are doing a second movie, but i just think a series might have worked better, maybe like you said they will double back on that.

{Ed001's Note - Will Smith was contracted to a series of films according to an interview in the local paper he did here.}
