Batman V Superman

Finally I had the chance watching this. But, after the enjoyment I had with Man of Steel, this turned out to be rather a disappointment.

I don't know exactly how to say this; somehow I felt the story should be good enough, the narrations and all, but somehow failed to deliver. I read this one review about how the story has so much things to cover, and because of this it became a mess. I have to agree on that.

Like all other Snyder's films, this one was exactly just like them; loud and big in actions, which I managed to enjoy if not as much as I enjoyed Man of Steel.

I agreed with most of other posters in here, Eisenberg ruined the character Lex Luthor, and maybe ruined the most part of this film. If they are to include Luthor in the future Superman or League films, they really should consider to cast a different actor.

The ending could be emotional, has the potential to, but because of the mess prior to that, that ending scenes felt nothing. Superman died? Oh ok.

I might be watching this again tomorrow, just because I did enjoy some small parts of it. But overall, Batman V Superman is a failure.

I feel like I have high standards because all I do is slate films 😂. This film Haizan was terrible. It should of been or could of been an amazing film if it was done right. The only good thing about it was Ben Affleck as batman. Hopefully he get a to do a film on his own as he nailed it I think.

{Ed001's Note - high standards is not a bad thing mate. You are right though, the film was terrible, though it should not have been.}

I've never understood the need for movies like this, Alien vs Predator and Freddy vs Jason.

{Ed001's Note - because people want to see Aliens fight Predators etc. It is the kind of thing we used to bicker over as kids which would win, so I can see why they made them. However, in my opinion, cashing in on that is a mistake as it ruins the whole discussion, which means the film series has nothing left. Those kind of discussions are how films get in your head and become a part of your life and bring the films to life in your heart. Taking that away returns them to just being films that you watch and then forget about.}

For me, I won't say that the film was terrible entirely. I enjoyed and appreciated it more after the second time watching it. But still max, I would never say that it was a good film either. The plots were terribly connected, but I did like some of the narrations. The dream sequences confused me, and seem wrongly placed in between the scenes, and maybe they shouldn't just scrap them entirely. The actions were quite OK, but sometimes a bit stupid. If I were to rate this film, I would rate it as 3 or maybe 4 out of 10.

{Ed001's Note - the thing I disliked was introducing the Justice League characters the way they did. It was badly done and felt like an afterthought. It certainly did nothing to get me looking forward to Wonder Woman etc.}

Yeah Ed01. I forgot about this part. For me, personally, they should just scrap it off, it wasn't necessary at all. For me, the worst was Aquaman.

{Ed001's Note - it was clearly just shoehorned in to sell future movies and had no place in the film. If it hadn't been for the obscenely terrible Lex Luthor, it would be the worst thing about the film.}

To me was the result of DC films wanting to instantly catch up marvel instead of playing the long game. As a result took two of the most iconic and loved comic series (frank millers batman the dark knight [could be wrong about the title but is the one where batman fights superman] and the death of superman) that could have made two great stand alone films and merging them to an incoherent mess.

Personally think if done as two separate films than would have been great! For reference their is an animated version of the frank miller batman vs superman comic and it is excellent! If they did a shortened version of that but kept their dark tone would have been great. Especially having batman having a far more elaborate scheme for beating superman compared to his "have krpytonite" plan in the film. side note the animated DC films over the last few years are actually quality
