Anyone seen "The Purge anarchy"?
Very violent film but great to watch.

{Ed001's Note - I was going to watch it the other night, but ended up watching Guardians of the Galaxy instead. I will give it a try next time I get a chance to watch a film.}

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy last night and thought it was great.
I'm not usually into space style films but this was a bundle of laughs from start to finish, it had that Marvel comic style to it and it worked well and suited the film.
The Racoon and the Tree (Brute I think) was just great together and Batista the wrestler surprised me because he was better than I thought at acting, he could go a long way in Hollywood.
9/10 simply because it was a film that made you laugh but also kept you interested.

HERBIE

{Ed001's Note - I thought Guardians was brilliant too, though I thought the wrestler was awful and was a poor choice for the role as he clearly has no clue about acting. Groot I think the tree is called and I agree on that, loved the ending as well.}

Ed1 have you ever seen a film called Ichi, Japanese samurai type flick, just looking thru Amazon's 3 blu rays for £17 offer and that's one of the few to stand out that I don't already own/ have rented/ or is old tat.

Mort

{Ed001's Note - I have heard of it, but never seen it. It has got very mixed reviews, it is not all out action apparently, so it is not fast paced or anything. If you have seen the Zatoichi films, it is almost a continuation of them according to the reviews.}

Grudge match surprisingly brilliant. Robert Deniro & Kevin Hart were hillarious.

Larry Bear

{Ed001's Note - is that the Sly v De Niro boxing match? I liked that myself. 22 Jump Street is funny too, probably better than the first one, which is also worth a watch. Surprisingly as I am not a fan of Jonah Hill, he usually just annoys me, like the other guy Seth Rogen, who is almost the same. Ride Along, speaking of Kevin Hart, is not too bad either. Not hilarious or anything, but not a switch off this junk film either.}

Yeah that's it Ed I enjoyed 21 jump street not saw the sequel yet. I don't mind Jonah Hill thought he was funny in The Watch. De Niros line in Grudge Match "he's the 1st person to treat me like a boxer not just a pair of tits" had me in stitches.

Larky Bear

{Ed001's Note - 22 Jump Street is good mate, give it a watch.}

Hey Ed, just wondering have you any recommendations for any horror movies out now (or soon) that I could go see? I went to see The Babadook yesterday and I must say I wasn't impressed. Don't know why it has such rave reviews as I didn't find it scary at all. It took about 45 mins for anything to happen and even when it did it was fairly anti-climatic. The last 15 mins was the only part I found slightly scary and good, but 15 mins out of 100 does not deserve to be labelled as the best horror of the year, unless the standard is very low this year. i'd give it a mere 6/10 at best, and that's only because of the ending. Then again I'm more of a jump scare man myself! So yeah, any recommendations Ed? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Like with any other genre people have different views on different films. For me, the two "Dr Phibes" movies are two of the better horror movies. For one of my wives "Calvaire" might top the list. I am sure others will help out.}
