Hacksaw ridge isn't out yet over here. But the reviews I've seen from America have been amazing and even oscar worthy. If anyone loves a good "real" war film that shows the brutal truths then this will be for you I'm hoping. He may be off his head (Mel Gibson) but with his 10 years or so out of the scene has probably done him the world of good.

Haven't watch it yet, too. I'm sure it is a good one. Me and my wife enjoyed Apocalypto so much I'm sure Gibson will deliver just as good as in his previous movies.

Any of you guys have watched Blood Father? Just found out it won't be released here in my country. Guess I need to wait for the DVD or for it to be aired on HBO or Fox then.

{Ed001's Note - good film mate, I really enjoyed it. It is on the list of films I have seen that I have to get round to reviewing. Taking a while as I got a bit lax and didn't keep up with them as I watched them.}

Off topic Ed01, have you watched BMW's The Escape? Having watched previous BMW shorts, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I have never seen a BMW short sorry. Not even sure what they are to be honest.}

If you have time you can try to check em out, Ed01. Nothing spectacular though, but they are a series of shorts directed by different directors; John Woo, Joe Carnahan and the late Tony Scott with the same actor Clive Owen. Last time I downloaded them from a BMW site. I believe they can be found in YouTube now. The new one is on Youtube.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok, I might check them out, I like Clive Owen, he is a big Liverpool fan.}

Whoa. I didn't know that. Thanks!!!

{Ed001's Note - when he can he will put in some reference to the club. In one film I remember him having LFC pictures and memorabilia on the wall of his office. I like to look to see if I can spot anything like that when I watch his films. It is like looking for the Stan Lee spot in a Marvel movie.}

Hi ed it's a very disturbing film but just wondering if you had any information on a Serbian film if you've seen or heard of it. It's one of those films you and your mates sit and watch because you've heard it's brutal. I tried to look up info on it years ago when I seen it and seen that it possibly had a deeper meaning to do with actual politics in serbia but from the directors
Cut version I'm failing to see it and just see it being a sick disturbing film.

{Ed007's Note - I have heard quite a bit about it but never watched it mate. Have you watched what's said to be the uncut version on Youtube?*

https://goo.gl/aZ39KB

I've always held the opinion that once the critics start spouting off about hidden meanings in films it's just an excuse to cover up for a shitty movie. I reckon you're closer to the truth than the critics that it's just a sick film.

*That video is strictly over 18s only and even at that I'd still advise using your discretion about watching it hence I didn't embed it.

Ye the uncut version is the one I watched very very disturbing i'm lucky enough to not be emotionally
Attached to films like that but showing this to any woman I think could cause a few breaks downs lol.

{Ed007's Note - Really? Guess that's me and the Mrs viewing for Saturday night. I put on David Lynch's Eraserhead back when we were in our teens and she still brings it up about how I made her watch it :-D

That film is sick. I still couldn't accept if there's any reason or excuse to make such a film. I understand that maybe the people wanted to show something that is truly happening in their world or whatever, but by making this with such graphics, I can't accept it. I believe there's another way to depict such things, moral ways.

Those who haven't watch it yet, please dont. I love gore, i'm an avid reader of a gore site, but this is just too much.

{Ed001's Note - having been told about this film by Ed007, I will be going out of my way to avoid it!}

Really mate everything sexually you can think of that's illegal is in this from rape, incest to things that Gary glitter would've been proud of.

{Ed007's Note - Is it really that bad? Over the years I found that so called banned films were always a bit of an anti-climax, Clockwork Orange, The Exorcist, I Spit on Your Grave etc but I think I'll draw a line at paedophilia unless it's in something like Spotlight.}

Horrible movie, really is horrible.

{Ed007's Note - I want to know what Haizan is watching, is gore stuff like the Scream movies or Freddy Krueger and that to you young 'uns?}

5.) 04 Dec 2016 00:09:05
Ed7, I have no problem with the gores in it. The gores in it were just OK, some even plain stupid. But when gores added with child rape (not just child rape, there were even a scene of newborn baby rape!), incest (raping own son!) and those for me are just too much.

{Ed007's Note - It sounds disgusting but I wasn't meaning that mate, I was meaning what 'gore' films are you into, does it mean old hacker/slasher films and B movies, like Driller Killer etc? And what the hell goes on on a gore website? :-D

6.) 04 Dec 2016 00:34:54
Ha sorry Ed07. To be honest, I didn't get to watch many of that kind of films. I enjoyed Saw though, up until no 3, I couldn't stand watching Scream or Halloween, and in the past I've watched Faces of Death. It wasn't actually a film though, more like a documentary.

{Ed007's Note - I liked a couple of the Saw films because of the psychological edge to them playing a game but I'm not a fan of things like Scream and Halloween although the Mrs loves flicks like that. And that Human Centipede!! Bleurgh!!
Was Faces of Death good, I've heard of it and seen it on a few movie sites but never watched it.

Just remembered Dead Alive, quite gross and gory film, and funny too, but it's quite an old movie. And there was this movie about a dentist I can't remember the title.

Faces of Death 1 was ok for me. That and Saving Private Ryan were actually the films that made me started watching gore videos and images. It is a documentary with videos of real gores happening around the world. If that is what you are looking for, I believe nowadays you can find lots of that kind of videos with more violent gores than the ones in it.
