Hi Ed001, just wondering if you've had a chance to see La La Land yet. Not much of a reviewer myself but thought it was fantastic, Stone and Gosling's chemistry changes it from being a good film to something that could go down as a classic. Would highly advise going to see it
{Ed001's Note - is that the musical one? If so I would not want to see it, as my pet hate is musicals!}

That's the one Ed. It mightn't be for you then, though while there's a couple of very cheesy songs at the very start, there's only 3 more throughout the rest of the movie. Most of the other music is jazz that's being played in bars/ restaurants the characters are in. Gives a sort of Whiplash vibe (it has the same writer and director as Whiplash. I wouldn't say it's strictly a musical but it's probably enough to put you off. Cheers for the reply anyway

You, I'll be honest not a fan of this, musicals for me should be that the songs move the story forward, these just seemed shoved in, no real story, and yes there was chemistry but I didn't really feel anything for the characters at any point of the movie. Kinda left me feeling underwhelmed and is why I hate oscar season, films for critics.
