Anyone heard the news that Hollywood is running out of 80s movies to reboot. Maybe now they can pull their fingers out and start producing new and original ideas.

{Ed001's Note - I thought they ran out of them years ago and were busy rebooting the reboots?}

Imagine a reboot of the rebooted ghostbusters. It wouldn't suprise me that's for sure.

{Ed001's Note - now you have suggested it, they will be able to come up with the idea. They won't have actually ever have thought of it on their own.}

Trust me, they've already think about it.

Just got round to watching star wars after being busy for the past two weeks. Either everyone else are sheeps or i watched something else entirely but was it not just a new hope ripoff. Wont spoil it for anyone else but man you would expect the billions disney paid they could atleast come up with a better script.

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly what I said mate. Really disappointing and I can see why George Lucas was really unhappy and had to stop himself as he was launching on a rant when asked about it!}

After the first scene you could see the plot coming from a mile away. I've personally given up on all these holywood films as it seems no one can come up with an original idea at all. Its just rip off after rip off. can't believe I spent 15 quid really miffed about it lol.

{Ed001's Note - it is really disappointing.}

A star wars film proving disappointing after all the hype? Well I never.

Im not sure if you can show youtube links on here ed001 but i'll give it a go.

This video is the reason why Jackie Chan will always be the best and it really highlights why hollywood action movies are most often garbage.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - Jackie Chan is just legendary and it is a shame he never got to do what he wanted with a Hollywood budget and we might have seen much better comedy/action movies over the years.}

Flash was a weird cast. Nothing against the actor that plays him, as I remember he was the funniest thing in grand budapest hotel. But he's flash character felt more like that dick in school who was more annoying than a bully. I guess they tried to modernise the role, I wouldve gone for some good old fashioned bullying. What ever happened to tripping you up in the hallway and wedgies when you least expect it.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - I am not even sure he was that annoying personally. Flash just felt like that annoying mate who always tries to embarrass him, rather than the bully who tries to make his life hell.}

i'm surprised you thought it was just decent ed. Thought it was great and i'm not big on the superhero genre. For once marvel had a villain in vulture who wasn't over the top. Someone you could empathize with too and a villain with actual motivation rather than hey i'm going to take over the world because i'm the bad guy. Thought Keaton played the role well, but then again i'm not privvy to the vulture in the comics so perhaps you know better than me. Agree that Holland was excellent in the role, even though it was the weakest spiderman we've seen out of all the spiderman movies it played well as his powers felt realistic. All in all a good superhero film for me.

{Ed001's Note - I like that Spidey was weak, I just thought Keaton was not very good, he does not have the brooding menace needed for the role. Fine as an overbearing dad, but as a villain he was just a bit meh. Still he was better than the previous baddies they have used in other attempts at Spidey, but that is because they have all been terrible. I am looking forward to the next one and hopefully they return to Vulture at some point as, in the few comics I read I can remember his son taking over the suit. What did you think of Flash?}

Not suprised it flopped, apparently Tom cruise took full control of the production undermining the newbie director. Completly changed the writing making the film feel disjointed. Not a good start for the dark universe franchise.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - that explains a lot. It was very Cruise-orientated but that was not what it needed. Russell Crowe was completely pointless in it to be honest, which is a shame as, at his best, Crowe is an excellent actor.}
