There's a Warcraft movie. O dear.

27 Mar 2016 15:26:58
Have you seen the new batman v superman film yet ed?
I was kind of dissapointed with it.
What does every1 else think?
Ben affleck tho is ok as batman.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, saw it Thursday evening. It was very long. Eisenberg is truly dreadful as Lex Luthor and ruins any chance of the film being a good film. Affleck was fine, it built up the fight between the two well, but the whole thing was spoilt every time Eisenberg appeared.}

27 Mar 2016 16:56:09
Yeah eisenberg was a bit knaf, was expecting him to be a bit better. It was a bit long, but when the fight came that was good, the end monster was just rubbish. Just should of been better.

{Ed001's Note - I can't stand Eisenberg anyway, so I was not expecting anything from him. The end monster just looked like a Marvel film reject to be honest.}

27 Mar 2016 18:33:26
Oh well ed, there's always the suicide squad and then the justice league to look forward to.
Admittedly tho the suicide squad doesn't look to promising.

{Ed001's Note - I like the look of Suicide Squad. The one I am really looking forward to is Captain America.}

27 Mar 2016 19:24:59
The thing which put me off suicide squad is jai courtney, for me he ruins every film he's been in. And even tho i like jared leto, his take on the joker just looks like an emo kid. Hopefully tho it will surpruse me.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know who Jai Courtney is to be perfectly honest. Nor Jared Leto. I never remember actors.}

27 Mar 2016 22:05:41
I can't wait for suicide squad or civil war! As for Batman vs Superman the point of the film is to set up the dc universe, so in that context it does its job. Affleck surprised me I thought he would be poor but portrays Batman well, expected more from Superman. And for me I enjoyed Lex Luthor clever enough to set up his game but left enough back for future films. However, I am basing that on this performance alone, never really read the comics so don't know his character.

just going through my dvd collection and came across a good recommendation if you like mystery thrillers, Identity, staring John Cusack and Ray Liotta, messes with your head if your slow like me but excellently done.

20 Mar 2016 16:25:12
Watched that years ago, thought it was great at the time

18 Mar 2016 20:37:58
What are peoples thoughts on the new clover field movie, I thought the 1st was very average but I'm intrigued they are going in a different direction for the new one, anyone else going to see it?

{Ed001's Note - I never knew they were making a second. I am surprised. What direction are they taking it?}

18 Mar 2016 23:19:50
Family hiding underground from look if the trailer. Still looks rubbish.

19 Mar 2016 00:40:55
Going by the first one I think I will give this one a very wide berth, the first was absolute tosh, a complete waste of 90ish minutes.

{Ed007's Note - I can't argue with that. It was one of those movies the Mrs made me watch and it was unbelievably even worse than how bad I expected it to be. I'd rather watch videos of dogs shitting than the sequel.}

18 Mar 2016 20:48:42
I think they must be trying to keep the plot under wraps as much as they can but from what I can gather a woman wakes up in a strangers house who has taken he in after an accident but won't let her leave as he claims there has been a chemical attack outside,she obviously has no idea what to believe and that's about all I can make out,might give it a chance,its out next Friday I think.

{Ed001's Note - I will be seeing Batman v Superman at the weekend, the in-laws are taking me, doesn't sound like Cloverfield is any more my thing second time round.}

19 Mar 2016 03:58:12
Well I was intrigued by this so I went and looked it up.
10 Cloverfield road is absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the Cloverfield film. General gist of the film is that a female has a car accident then wakes up in someone's (John Goodman) basement, John tells the female there's been a nuclear war and it goes on from there, it actually does sound like its worth watching.
Absolutely no big a$$ monster's smashing buildings to pieces.

{Ed001's Note - it sounds a lot less interesting to me!}

11 Mar 2016 09:54:43
A film I really am looking forward to is this one:

16 Mar 2016 19:20:59
The bit when Spiderman comes in at the end is epic!

{Ed001's Note - looks good doesn't it?}

17 Mar 2016 20:59:21
Very good, I didn't know most of the avengers was in it! Really looking forward to it!

10 Mar 2016 20:55:23
Anyone looking forward to batman v superman??

{Ed001's Note - me, a little anyway. Not desperately awaiting it like, just interested to see what it will be like.}

10 Mar 2016 21:43:05
I'm sort of the same, I didn't like Superman, a bit too much for me, but I love the dark knight trilogy. The trailers look awesome but I'm starting to think because I'm looking forward to it so much, it's going to be more like the superman style and let me down! Not too happy about wonder woman and aquaman being involved either.

{Ed001's Note - I am with you except for the last bit about Aquaman, as I know nothing about him. Only thing I know about him is that it was the nickname for Alberto Aquilani while he was at Liverpool, though the Invisible Man would have been more suited.}

12 Mar 2016 10:21:34
Haha! Sounds about right ed. I just don't want it getting too comic bookey if you know what I mean. Batman was almost believable.

{Ed001's Note - not so sure I agree on that, a billionaire doing things for the good of others? You don't get anything more unbelievable than that!}

13 Mar 2016 10:42:59
Just like Rupert Murdoch ed?

{Ed001's Note - unless you count marrying a fame hungry slapper as doing good?}

15 Mar 2016 12:56:28
Keeps her away from the rest of us ed.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think too many of us are in her target demographic to be honest. Maybe Eds 3 and 25 but the rest are safe.}

16 Mar 2016 12:36:36
I'll admit I was convinced when affleck was announced as batman. But based on the trailers an the Turkish airlines ad he should be alright.

I'm not sure how the too are going to mix though. Batman, with the exception of the campy tv series, has always been fairly dark. Supermans always been camp.

{Ed001's Note - actually some of the comics of Superman were dark, it was only TV and movies that made him camp, I believe. At least judging by the ones I have seen, not being a fan of his that is only a small pool of knowledge of them I am drawing on.}

16 Mar 2016 16:29:20
Same ed. I've only seen the films, the reeve ones and the god awful reboot. Might have read couple of comics but I was more of a marvel fan growing up. For some reason the library stocked marvel but not dc.

{Ed001's Note - I could never afford comics, but a kid at school collected Marvel and Star Wars ones, so those were the ones I read.}

16 Mar 2016 23:22:42
Ah the library had a decent collection. That an tintin.

{Ed007's Note - I stole loads of Asterix the Gaul books from our local library and the school one. I've still got them all upstairs somewhere.}

17 Mar 2016 12:54:17
Shocking. I remember the time I went an there was no tintin. Had to start asterix instead.

{Ed007's Note - And I bet you were delighted with them - TinTin was garbage till he got a decent hair do and started doing the Fallout games :)

17 Mar 2016 15:37:17
They was alright. Filled many an hour.

{Ed007's Note - Have you seen any of the films they made over the years?}

17 Mar 2016 23:05:00
I've seen the animated asterix in Britain. But none of the live action ones with Gerard Depardieu in.

{Ed007's Note - The Depardieu one I seen was awful, like everything else I've seen him in. Some of the cartoons are quite good, there's one I watched in a drunken/stoned haze years ago with a group of mates that blew our mind, it was very trippy with psychedelic artwork etc. and it became a staple of our viewing along with the Cheech and Chong movies.
I was trying to work out what one it was from a list there and the first film was made in 1967! That's 7 years before I was even born - I thought the books were only from the 80s. I feel a day of watching the films on the horizon now after talking about them.}

18 Mar 2016 15:33:23
Yeah the books are 60s/70s mainly. So probably got trippy stiff in there. All that magic potion stuff. I know one of the guys died an the other one carried on but think he's retired now.

{Ed007's Note - I didn't know that, seems he died in 1977 but quick Google search shows that books have still been coming out every 3/4 years with the final one only last year. I'll need to try and get a hold of the newer ones - I wonder if I'm still banned from the local library.... ;)

18 Mar 2016 23:22:31
Heard some of the solo ones were bit mixed but I think the later ones he had help. Tempted to have a look.

{Ed007's Note - I'm definitely going to check them out.}

20 Mar 2016 00:40:29
Yeah he retired an two new guys took over. Asterix and the picts.

{Ed007's Note - I think we should get some kind of royalty deal, there can't be too many people on the internet talking about Asterix. We're a right pair of hipsters :) Thinking back on it there was probably a lot of the historical and political jokes I didn't get at the time. I'm actually sitting in bed going to look through Netflix for any of them lol

20 Mar 2016 15:39:39
Oh yeah lots of stuff like that especially the newer ones it seems. I been reading synopsises on wpedia.

{Ed007's Note - I've been doing that too! And I watched Asterix the Gaul on Youtube last night :)

20 Mar 2016 20:54:12
We should be getting royalties. Might have to youtube them later

{Ed007's Note - Asterix and chill lol

05 Mar 2016 13:03:58
A few films I've watched recently:

The Hunger games(part 3) - I really liked part 1 and 2 but found 3 just the same old same old, after about 1 hour I was completely bored with it and switched it off. 3/10

Mad Max - Not a bad film with lots of action, Hardy is fast becoming a favourite actor of mine, the one thing that annoyed me with this film is that some scenes looked as though they were put on fast forward, it was almost like an old Benny Hill scene at times. 7/10

The Maze(part 2) - This is a film that had some bad reviews about it, I thought it was ok, nothing special but nowhere near as bad as I was led to believe. 6/10

06 Mar 2016 21:20:54
Hunger games was disappointing but the second half picked up. Was a set up film for the finale.

03 Mar 2016 13:43:05
Has anybody been watching 11.22.63 the time travel jfk series. It is quite well done and stars James Franco, the aim of the show is to find out if Oswald was the lone gunman and if so stop him.
